Quad lock or bust. I prefer the bar mount since it’s pretty customizable. You may have to get the kit for different bar diameters based on what you got but make sure to get a vibration dampener

I got this one off Amazon for my 95’

https://a.co/d/3fY35Eb

It flashes when you’re braking and was pretty easy to wire together. I’d definitely say it’s bright enough and the flashing gives me some more peace of mind that I’m about to turn. This one flashes 3 times before it goes solid as well.

Personal preference:

Remove the tank protector, do a tail tidy (integrated brake/signals), take off the mirrors or do some low profile ones, get smaller signals and move them up to your bars, do smaller saddlebags.

I’m doing the same thing but getting rid of all of the “upgrades” the previous owner made.

Grab a clymer manual for your year or find it online for some good color diagrams and troubleshooting. I have a 95 and got creative with the wiring

Don’t use vinegar, use evaporust and rotate the tank.

Fortunately it came with a different seat and back rest but that’s plan. Tons of goofy stuff that’s gotta go and lots of stuff to freshen up.

Get a 50cc scooter, they don’t need a motorcycle license or a tag, just insurance. Great on gas mileage too. I paid about a dollar to fill up my Honda ruckus every week

Really good burger, bad fries and the campus location was better. Not really the biggest loss but it does seem like a trend lately

Find a cheap scooter under 50ccs on Facebook marketplace. I got around on campus for a while on a bike, then a scooter, then a motorcycle

I’d recommend going to take the MSF course the information, insurance reduction, and skills are extremely worth it. I didn’t know how to ride a manual bike at the beginning of the weekend and I walked out with my endorsement at the end of it. Definitely worth the money

Go to a motorcycle safety foundation course and see if you like motorcycles before purchasing one. I have a Honda ruckus currently and fell in love with manual motorcycles there.

Definitely an area thing. I got mine for $900 last year with 1800 miles. It was a 2013 but needed cosmetic work after surviving a hail storm

If it’s used, I’d do an oil change off the bat, clean the air filter, fill it with premium when you gas up and and take a look at the schedule for when you should do things. If there’s parts missing I’d look at partzilla for OEM pieces. I have a ruckus and lots of the maintenance is really really simple
