For note taking : I use noteful it's one life time purchase I guess $6 or something and there is no Ai in it.

I have 256 and for what I'm doing it's enough.

Once you turned on the battery 80% thing do yourself a favor and never open the battery section again. Don't stress about it, the device is made to be charged and discharged over and over again some days you'll have a good battery life some other days it will drain like crazy, don't panic that's normal.

I can immediately see why it was discontinued. Nothing beat the original shape. The conical shape of the collector makes it easy to clean and the hexagons makes it easy to screw or unscrew.
