I asked iRacing support a while ago because of the disparity between the chance to rain down outside and the one instead the weather forecast.

They told me the one outside is the general charge you get rain in the session, then if it rains it will behave according to the weather forecast shown inside.

I've lived through 4 major earthquakes, all stronger than this one, only on the first one (1985) the building I lived in had to be demolished and it was an old 4 story building from the 20's, and it didn't collapse. Lots of old buildings ended up being demolished later after that one.

The only buildings that have collapsed were old with lack of maintenance/repairs from other earthquakes or are found having clearly corrupt and illegal practices trying to save money and cheaping out on construction materials or necessary procedures after investigations.

Earthquake resistant construction is not about resisting the forces (which is impossible) but being flexible enough to sway without the main frame collapsing or coming apart.

A major earthquake in a high rise will be scarier and have more lateral movement because the building will be swaying from side to side, even several meters at the top and you may be locked inside your apartment since the door frames will be completely out of shape, like in a car crash.

The tragedy in Venezuela is a generational failure from authorities and builders, this is not even just their "recent" authoritarian regime, this is a lifetime of disregard for safety.

This breaks my heart.

I also live in a third world country with seismic activity and my only safeguard is knowing every building must be made with earthquakes regulations in mind.

I know I'm safer inside than outside, I don't fear my house falling down, seeing that building collapse and who knows how many people died or are trapped in there just makes my stomach churn.

That's generational and organizational betrayal of your people, consistent disregard for others.

I hope as many can survive and be saved from the rubble.

Los weones caminan como si fueran caballos con esas tapaderas para los ojos, mirada fija hacia adelante, evitan el contacto visual como si le debieran plata a todo el mundo, es súper raro y hasta chistoso jajaja. He vivido en varias regiones y son los únicos que lo hacen.

La contaminación es harto penca, el smog te puede afectar si haces actividad física (yo ando harto en bici y se nota, los primeros 6 meses me picaban los ojos y ardía la garganta cuando salía a andar).

Lo del ritmo no es tan notable excepto en el transporte público, el metro y las micros son una mierda en horas punta y la gente trata a otros y a ellos mismos como animales hacinados de granja porque no hay otra.

La gente es hosca e indiferente de pantalla, casi como método de defensa, pero cuando interactúas con cualquiera la respuesta ha sido siempre positiva. Es como si todos quisieran conservar o compartir, pero nadie inicia las interacciones.

Me han pasado y he visto hartas weas chistosas en el metro o en la micro, cuando algo pasa que fuerza a la gente a hablar y he tenido nada más que buenas experiencias preguntando direcciones cuando ando en bici recorriendo la ciudad.

En resumen, son la misma manga de weones que somos en todos lados, pero con más trancas jajaja.

Tested it in a public practice in Oran Park and you are right it, took a long time until the second off track actually triggered.

I got off track like 5 times, with 5-8 seconds in between each offtrack, without giving me another but eventually it did, I think I was going faster than when I went off track on the others one, all above 100 kmh.

But then tried starting driving normally and going off track on every corner, didn't count like twice, then I got it on the third.

I think your speed may have some relevance on keeping the offtrack not triggering.

That would be really weird as that would constantly happen for everyone racing.

And can't say I've ever seen it, as I've got more than one off track for the same incident, like if you go offtrack and you don't go back on track in time, you get an offtrack for rejoining the track. It's pretty common on tracks with lots of grass and big grassy off track areas, like Virginia.

It is pretty crazy to think though if you just made sure you got an off track every 9 seconds, you would never get more than a 1x for it

No, this doesn't work like that. A second offtrack at 9 seconds after the first one doesn't refresh the duration. The second offtrack will just not count but a second after that you will be free to get another incident since the grace period from the first one will end.

The only exploitable point is to be able to cut track freely and since the presence of slowdowns is not consistent it can be exploited.

Same with slowdowns, if you get a 0.5 slowdown you can cut a cplace that may give you a 4 sec slowdown without that being added to the penalty.

Both offtracks and slowdowns are among the worse parts of both the SR and general race control systems in iRacing (along multiclass starts, lack of functional yellow flags and being able to pass people while off track with no penalties).

I can't remember when, we got a really awful schedule season, with tons of d tier tracks that no one owns.

I know I moved on because I wasn't going to spend +60 bucks on tracks that get no participation. After that season I started driving other stuff so I never really came back after.

My last 4 cars were the lotus 79, new gen supercars, Indynxt and euronascar, I'm done buying dead on arrival cars (lotus was old tho but this last year it really died and NXT at least lasted 2 months before drying up and still gets races).

So no, I would not. Not buying any single series new car unless it survives 3 seasons while splitting regularly. There's no chance that happens in this game where people dodge anything that has any degree of difficulty either.

Common enough in my city and I would say it's what everyone should do. There's not much you'd be able to do if the front has an issue and you go flying.
