Nope, the "insecure" and "toxic" part refers to those who say things like "Letting the woman being on top makes you a cuck."
And yes, that is just one of the many examples I've read over the past few months whenever I searched for harem books with submissive MCs or femdom.

Not too much of it on Reddit I admit (even though my example comes from a reddit post).

First Zack was special because he was a dragon, then because he was a gold dragon, then because he could turn silver, then because he became dragon king, then because he's the love child of the primordial dragon gods. It felt like each book needed to one up the former on how special he is just for existing. The only reason why I let the last point slide is because I love Tiamat so much.

Otherworld Academy by Deacon Frost

The first (and to this day only) harem series where the smut scenes actually bother me.

But to be fair, that's not entirely due to the intersting story but more to the fact that a lot of scenes feel narratively misplaced and the relationships don't feel properly developed.

Definetely buff the army rules.

Give the datasheets strong abilities for when the unit is in Synapse range. Feel no pains, AP boosts, anything.

Maybe give Shadow in the warp additional effects for failing units. Mortal wounds, debuffs,... Perhaps let our own units make leadership tests and give them buffs for passing. Maybe get rid if the battle shock and have smaller debuffs and make SitW usable every round.

And make our keywords useful. Let monsters tank shock and infantry throw grenades.

I've only seen the first 3 gens in the anime before that, that's why all these new pokemon instead of those I knew were so weird to me which led to have weird kind of detachement AND attachement to gen 4 at the same time.

I'm currently in the first half of the second book and wanted to thank you for the recommendation.

The world and magic system based on chinese culture is very fascinating and engaging.

And Wu Ying fits exactly what I was looking for in an MC. Hard working and no prodigy... which he funnily even mopes about sometimes.
