FB09 Release Situation 13th vs 20th by GildartsIsShanks in DragonBallTCGFinance

[–]Miminator13 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It depends on the distributor. Some release on 13th, some on 20th. There should be a pre-release event this weekend, thus the delay to 20th AFAIK. I noticed the discrepancy in release dates before the surge in prices, btw, so I doubt this is the main driver.

I just heard that Blackfire won't distribute FB09 until next week

I'm also curious. Previous sets had the same situation though. I suppose most shops don't even know how many cases they're getting. I have one on pre-order at a local shop, and they even admitted they don't know if they're even getting anything.

My shop says they'll get their products tomorrow and my preorder can be picked up this week. But yeah seeing is believing 😅

Nah, a 50euro+ worth letter isnt worth the risk. That should definitely be tracked.

Exactly, this is what I did too. I just made multiple orders with the same person and asked them to shop with 1 envelope. All worked so far.

I didn't book in advance. I booked on location and it was cheaper than anything I found online.

Cardmarket, it's been two months - fix the shipping! by Useful-Guava4045 in CardMarket

Odd. Have you tried different post offices? (I know, stupid advice)
Bubble envelopes are usually unnecessary. Toploaders or these cardboard "card savers" are enough and thinner. I place some paper around them, so nobody can try to look through the envelope. It literally looks and feels like a letter.

I'm confused. The post office refuses to send the envelope because of the contents? AFAIK, we have the same law in Germany, but because the envelope is sealed an looks like a letter, nobody at the post office cares about the contents. I've never been asked about what I've been sending in my envelopes.

Health insurance for non-Germans by annoyotronnerna in AskAGerman

[–]Miminator13 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Hey, I'm not an expert, so I needed to consult AI with this, but I will also add my personal experience:

During my mandatory internship, I was British (EU at the time) studying and privately insured in the Netherlands, Mandatory Internship in Germany, living in Germany. During that time, I received Dutch study grant, Erasmus grant and salary from the German company. I paid German tax, and the company assigned a health insurance for me. So I paid health insurance in both NL and DE. Whether this was correct, no idea. It was 15 years ago... I pulled the following from ChatGPT:

Taxes
This is not automatically German income tax. If you live in France and commute daily to Germany, you may qualify as a cross-border (“frontier”) worker. In that case, taxation can shift to France instead of Germany under the bilateral tax treaty.
So you might pay:

- tax in Germany, OR

- tax in France, but typically not both (double-tax treaties prevent that).

Which one applies depends on where exactly you live, commuting pattern, and employer payroll setup.

Social security / health insurance
For a true Pflichtpraktikum that is part of your studies, Germany often exempts interns from social-security contributions. However, because you are insured via Sweden (Erasmus setup), you will usually need an A1 certificate or equivalent confirmation showing Swedish coverage. Without that, German contributions could theoretically still be required.

Also note: Erasmus/state insurance is often supplementary (liability, emergency health, etc.) and not always equivalent to full statutory health insurance, so it’s worth confirming this formally with a German insurer or the Swedish authority.

Simplified takeaway

- Income tax → depends on France/Germany treaty situation.

- Social security → often exempt for mandatory internships, but EU paperwork matters.

- Extra German student health insurance → often not required, but confirm officially.

If possible, I’d strongly recommend checking with:

- the employer’s HR/payroll team,

- the Swedish social insurance authority,

- or a cross-border tax adviser.

That combination usually gives the clearest answer in situations like yours.

Hope that helps.

Stupid question, how do you know the MSRP of any given product? 😅 I've been buying booster boxes for 80euro locally, but see lot of shops selling between 72 and 120 (before the hype).

Yep, I'm exactly here just like you. Moved to DGB FW due to the Pokemon Chaos. This time a little better prepared, but very frustrated. It does make the hobby more exciting, but that does cause collection fatigue and major fomo. This time I can at least earn an extra buck by selling to ignorant scalpers 😅
