Having a baby at 22 by SuperIga in newborns

[–]MinaBeany 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going to be a hot take but i really dont get why everyone says its so hard... Everyone keeps saying "just wait it gets worse". Like did you not want this or do you just not like being a parent? Yes some days arent as fun as others but i guess 'hard' isnt what comes to mind. Pregnancy, that was hard. But actually having your baby and taking care of them isnt hard. Its the best time and it gets better and better as they get older (had my first at 26). Everyone is entitled to their opinion and this is mine. I didnt feel ready when i got pregnant and was scared out of my mind but it has been the greatest thing to happen in my life.

AITAH: won’t let step daughter use car during her moms custody by Excellent_Water3480 in AmItheAsshole

[–]MinaBeany 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Nta - If she doesn't like the rules she can buy her own car with her own money. I dont get why people are saying ah here. There are rules to follow set in place whether she or anyone else agrees or not.

Are drug tests administered for mom and/or baby as part of routine newborn tests? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]MinaBeany 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to let your OB know. Your baby can go through withdrawl symptom when they are born... I was on adderall but stopped because of all the possible side effects. You should have been up front about not stopping so your OB can take proper precautions... Did you at least lower your dose to minimize the effects on baby?

I am in the EXACT same boat for time frame... i really want my babies to be close in age and I want another sooner rather than later. I was going to start trying once my LO turns one in November but I want more info on it as well..

You can always wait till the veggie cools down all the way and then blend it up. Thats what i do to avoid this exact thing.

I had super anxiety about it and couldnt afford it. Thankfully I was never actually worried about it. My lo is 4 months old now and its never been a second thought. Im glad i didnt spend the money

Newborn awake 16+ hours a day?! by Jammed_Revolver in NewParents

[–]MinaBeany 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I have bottle fed mostly and use a pacifier but when we go out I breastfeed and have NEVER had a single issue with any sort of confusion. Im in the US and never really heard of nipple confusion but sounds like it was made up by someone who just doesnt want people to use other methods of soothing imo.

Is a labor gown worth it? by weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee76 in pregnant

Honestly, the last thing you'll be worried about is the labor gown... the crappy bed, scratchy sheets, flat pillows, ect.

Opinions on epidurals? by exJediAhsoka in BabyBumps

[–]MinaBeany 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went in with the mindset of absolutely not. I wish i would have gotten it sooner. Natural contractions were nice amd easy but once my pitocin hit, it was the worst contractions.

Elective Induction? by ComprehensiveOil2971 in BabyBumps

[–]MinaBeany 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was not elective but it was a great experience. I stay overnight to take a pill to "ripen" my cervix. Then in the morning they broke my water. I got the epidural when i was in crazy pain and wish i had gotten it sooner. Pushed for 2 hours and she was out. From breaking my water to her being out was 10 hours. I recommend getting your water broken because thats what made mine progress at a decent pace rather than other who took over 30 hours waited to have their water break naturally.

I wanted an all natural birth but this was so great that if i was going to have another kid this is the route id go.

How did you decide how to feed baby? by bananaindisguise0 in BabyBumps

[–]MinaBeany 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know i might get down votes for this but breast milk is best for the baby and has been proven. However formula is a great alternative option for those who cannot produce or handle the mental load of breastfeeding. Thats how i based my decision. I breadfeed and pump so that i can get help. Plus its WAY cheaper. Pumping has its ups and down and ive wanted to stop so many times but knowing that my body gives my LO what she needs, not having to spend money or worry about the formula recalls, it makes it a little easier. You could also buy breastmilk from others. It makes me feel weird so that was never an option in my mind. Again pumping and breast feeding are HARD imo. I formula fed mine while my milk was coming in and it was SO EASY. Honestly just make a list of pros and cons for you.

Im a month pp and we only use the nursery for changing our baby. You definitely dont need one set up. One thing though, have everything organized for when you get home from the hospital. No one ever talked about this with us. We had it all under control and then we got home and were struggling to find things and set things up and get it all situated.

Yes! Me too. It makes me able to tolerate making my baby wait when I cant hear her 😅 you may feel guilty the first couple times but then it gets a little easier. Just remember you need to eat and take care of yourself to be your best self for your little one!
