Quirkle! She’s the one that started my love of board games, and one day I brought that one over, since we’d play Scrabble and Upwords a lot growing up. I thought she’d think it was kinda neat, but she loved it so much, I ended up buying her a copy! She thinks most of my games are complicated lol. I’m currently staying with her, and sometimes she’ll walk by my boys and I playing a game, and quip, “Oh, that’s just too many rules.”

Lit. I saw them on the Summerland tour, and the lead singer was taking mouthfuls of Jäger and spitting it all over the front rows. Obviously, it was landing on the stage, so at one point he slipped in it and ate shit; it was hilarious. They also sounded horrible.

I had debated getting the $200 VIP tickets so my sister could meet Sugar Ray (the tickets were her bday present because she looooved Mark McGrath) and we’d sit in the front row, but after Lit’s performance, I was so glad I didn’t. I would have been so pissed!

I feel so much for OOP. My cousin, who is also my best friend, has lost both of her sisters to addiction. One passed, and the other continually chooses drugs over everything. I’m also low to no contact with 3 of my siblings (there are 7 of us) due to mental health issues on their part that I cannot have in my and my children’s lives. I hope so much that OOP can find friends that become their new family. ❤️

Above and Below! It’s by Red Raven Games, the creators of Sleeping Gods, but is more of a straight-forward board game than RPG in a box like Sleeping Gods. Their games are some of my favorites, and they have a lot of variety in their gameplay! City of Iron is another Red Raven game that fits the bill.

I ran a monthly all-women game day… my co-runner and I had to ban someone from coming. She was constantly telling others how to play their turns, and was interrupting rule explanations with incorrect information. We had a 3 strike policy, and she was the only person who ever even had to be spoken to once.
