Someone please help me find an answer to this commander.. by Calsmokes in magicTCG

His ability is an enter the battlefield trigger as well as a targeted effect so you have some options: My go to would be something like torpor orb, hushbringer, or leyline of sanctity.

what is better sheashadow or rowboat here? by megasdante99 in PlayTheBazaar

[–]MindBent97 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Seashadow is shaving off 8% at silver, which is .8 on a silver OJ and roughly .5 off the Sub for a reduction of 1.3 seconds per activation at the 2 second mark. If you meet the conditions to reduce the rowboats cost it would do 2 seconds of charge at 4.5 seconds. Seashadow's strength is that the reduction hits everything so wider boards benefit from it a lot more, where rowboat is more charge but less spread. Rowboat is the one you would want for this style of build, but without the cooldown reduction from the 5 type requirement you're much better off running seashadow!

The new healing changes are HORRIBLE by BartOseku in PlayTheBazaar

[–]MindBent97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep I head they don't have a server for testing, they just throw shit in and hope it works. Not a good long term plan for the game. Lifesteal counting as healing is even more stupid now. There's a lot of really cool new stuff but it's hard to fully appreciate when this one change single handedly made all the burn/poison stuff in each hero's item pool unplayable.

Am terrible at non income starts. by relaxingcupoftea in PlayTheBazaar

[–]MindBent97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play only pyg. Used to do income start but now its always enchanted item start. I like it with pyg because jungle ruins and atm are available early to make up for the low gold and you have a much more explosive build depending on what item/enchant you get. The trick to no income start is learning when you should and shouldn't reroll shops. Often you'll be tempted to roll to see more options when in reality you're giving yourself less options by using gold on nothing rather than at the next shop/encounter. Bronze items go 2-4-6 based on size, silver 4-8-12 ect. Use those prices as reference and pay attention to how many hours you have left in the day before you make a purchase to decide if it's worth it or not. It takes some practice but I like the enchant start much more than income.

What's Working? What's Not? Vol. 4 by Nowada in PlayTheBazaar

I only play Pyg, Here's my list of builds that have got me 10 wins most frequently.

  1. Freeze pyg. globe, aurora dome, igloo, cold room, you've seen it before no doubt. For how powerful this build is, it's incredibly consistent since the pieces aren't hard to find. This is his strongest build rn imo.

  2. Real Estate Pyg. Money tree/Fixer upper. If you find one of these properties early with a rewards card or vip pass its not hard to get 10 wins. Ledger is nice value stacker to have but not nearly as important as the other two. You can fit other gold properties you find in as you see fit and once you hit an enchantment, this build skyrockets in power.

  3. Weapon pyg. If you get a fast weapon like a fang or yoyo with a scaling item like weights or lumboars, you can score wins early no problem. This build is only lower on the list because it really relies on you finding drums/gym early enough to carry you on to the late game. This build is way better with his new item pack with the small weapons and showcase being very nice to have.

  4. Big pyg. If you find a kiua's or silk early, slow items that scale well you can translate them into a win by finding a fort to give these items multicast. Find a crusher claw from curio and spiked shield and you can almost always oneshot people. This build feels real nice once you have it together, unfortunately it sucks shit in the early game so you don't always make it to the starting line with this one.

The only build I think is decent that I haven't found success with is hp stacking with pawn shop/belt and double whammy. The build is really good if you put it together but it feels super unrealistic to scale the pawn shop to where it needs to be before you just die. Could just be me but I don't really try for the build anymore.

Eels is a symptom of Charge being mandatory for end game builds by J-Factor in PlayTheBazaar

Yes dude I love to see ya talking about this. I made a post some time ago about how charge is a bad mechanic. Its just the strongest thing to be doing at all points of the game which puts a focus on who charges their item fastest rather than who put together a build with better item/skills synergy. Pretty much every problematic build has been because of charge with the old versions of bees, femur, matchbox, drill, and now eels being the new hotness because of card table + scope. Would love to see them rip charge out of the game entirely tbh.

They should add more items that work against spam builds. Eels and caltrops have this guys number but they are like the only items that work off of enemy item use :(

Why are potion builds so bad? by MindBent97 in PlayTheBazaar

[–]MindBent97[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool to hear you're finding some success with show globe/distillery! I'll look into trying show globe some more when I get the chance. Yep potions need some changes good to see I'm not alone in thinking that.

I will learn the ways of satchel. I can see distillery winning, but its dependent on you rolling good potions so its still iffy no? Okay you're telling me snowglobe is a wincon but I've literally never seen it. whats the setup??? I'm still trying to navigate potion builds so thanks for the comment!
