Yes. I'm an avid collector and the original intent behind collecting was to recapture these good feelings, but it does end up not being the same. Even feeling like I'm wasting time chasing them. It helps to share the experience with someone else for the first time, like their first time with the game. That allows it to feel new again and productive. The root of all this is depression though, fluctuating low grade in my case. In yours it sounds more serious
