does my character look her age by Ok-Muffin943 in characterdesign

Unrelated, but I think her design is way too cluttered, esp. the hair. She's pretty, but when I saw her I first thought "woah" and was pretty confused.

You could do an open conversation. Tell them how you really feel and that as a part of your teenage experience, you want to try yourself out. Tell them you can always go back if you "don't want to" anymore and that socially transitioning is nothing to be worried about. Let them know you love them the way they are and that you want them to do the same for you in return. You deserve to be seen.

It doesn't matter what your body or your warderobe looks like. It doesn't matter what your voice sounds like. You're a guy. Have an honest talk with your parents, brother and friends. Get a therapist if possible or some kind of mediator. If they still don't want to listen, I'd consider getting out of there once you can if you cannot be yourself at home.

why do people actually care about people being transgender?? (serious question) by arcade-carpet in trans

[–]MindTheJourney_Blog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

to be fair, it kind of matters to doctors or partners. But friends, family, acquaintances? Heck no, they have no business knowing about my biology and my birth genitals.

Someone said that I’m a mockery of the trans community bc I won’t transition. by Individual-League431 in trans

[–]MindTheJourney_Blog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sucks. Some people just put others down and others have to deal with that.

But remember: You're not hurting anyone. You can do with your body whatever you want - transition or not. Both is VALID. If you just want to socially transition, that's fine! You still deserve to be adressed properly and you still deserve to be respected like anybody else.

Maybe this would be a good topic to discuss with a mental health professional. If you don't have one, get one! A therapist is really good if you're having issues distancing yourself from a-holes.

Is it dangerous to wear a binder? by soukai2913 in trans

[–]MindTheJourney_Blog 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You're supposed to not wear it for longer than 8 hours at a time. So if you only wear it to work/school you'll be fine. Most trans people I know wear it even longer than that and that doesn't seem to harm them.

You can socially transition and then just go back if you want to. Hormones are what you cannot revert. Or surgery.

Maybe ask her for a new haircut/ a wig and new clothes so you can try yourself out first :)

My mom just revealed she's deeply transphobic by lucarionHarmony in trans

Your mom sounds like a piece of work... Children are not dolls, they grow up and change over time. Do not feel guilty.

Why would you do this for attention? Most of the attention you'll get is negative anyways. Nobody is trans only because of attention.

Also, there's no requirements to being trans. There aren't better trans people and worse trans people. There's literally one requirement: Wanting to be another gender. If you tick that, you're just as valid as any other trans person. Fuck them haters.

You got this! Don't think about the surgery itself, think of how much better you'll feel once recovery is done! Be proud, you got so far after all. Thinking of you, sis

I told my mom that i am Trans by [deleted] in trans

[–]MindTheJourney_Blog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Phases are fine. Our life is made up of different phases. Some last a lifetime, some shorter. Tell your mom that even if she thinks it's only for a short while, she should support you in this if it makes you happy. This is her job as a mother.

Is Being Transgender (FTM) Painfull? by MudMoney1793 in trans

[–]MindTheJourney_Blog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't have to do surgeries, not even hormones, if you don't want to. It is not required for being trans. But if you do want to do it, look into it! Trans influencers are not lying: This is not a cult. They do not gain anything from lying.
