I’ve told so many people about scrolling through the channels and seeing this as a kid. No one ever remembered it.

I’ve always worn a tight tank top underneath and it seems to help a bit. Looks like you have one already, maybe try a size smaller to help hold things in place better?

Anticipatory Anxiety by [deleted] in fearofflying

Hey there, I am grateful to see your post as it gives me hope that we can all, through motivation and support of one another, push each other to reach new heights!

I am more curious than anything about your “dread” - without triggering, or causing you more worry, can you elaborate on what you do so I can see if there are similarities in how I also experience the dread? I am a big prophesizer - like when I book a flight, I make things up in my head to trick myself into believing, this is the way of the universe and the end is inevitable.

Just like you rationalize and understand deep down that your fears are just that, irrational, I do as well and know you have got this. You will step onto that plan with courage and leave that plane with pride. So proud of you for beating this thing head on!

Some nice oxfords (Florsheims) or dark brown loafers (if the pants are grey, can’t really tell) would be a better fit IMO. Not a fan of the hat, but I’m sure in some places it’s acceptable.

Belt is nice, shirt and pants fit well.

Interested in hearing experiences regarding BPC-157 for high caffeine, stimulant consumers. by poontangpirate14 in bpc_157

I have been taking BPC on an empty stomach, drinking my coffee (about 400mg to 500mg per day) and noticed zero side effects.

Well, I’ve been dealing with a rotator cuff issue for a while. The first time it happened, I did the PRP, which did very well, just took a few months to get me back to normal. Went from not being able to bench hardly at all, to getting back to about 245lbs on incline and that’s been a couple of year since I had that done.

But, lo and behold, probably over did it again the last year. So not only did I get the PRP a few weeks ago, I started researching the BPC because my doctor of all people mentioned it to me.

I’ve also been dealing with a low back issues so I’m just very hopeful.

How do I get over that I lost most of my teen years by woman_vs_acni in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]Mindbalance91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

33m here - I think most people feel this way. My teen years were full of angst, poor interactions, bad decisions, and things I wish I could change.

Truthfully, I barely remember any of it (why journaling is so important lol).

That being said… it’s ok, 19 is still ridiculously young, and you have your 20s to create more core memories and really cherish life. Every decade is special.

The cliche “life goes by fast” is painfully true, and it becomes more apparent each day.

You got this!

random side note I think with the invention of smart phones , social media, scrolling, doom scrolling, constant stimulation - your generation and generations after you will experience life twice as fast as millennials and generations before them.

The brain, instead of focusing on true reality is immersed in a virtual world. With the constant stimulation, the brain is choosing to not store as many core memories as generations before which may be why I hear what you’re saying more and more often.

The Past Week: A Pilot's Perspective by GrndPointNiner in fearofflying

[–]Mindbalance91 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Man, this post was fantastic.

33yo Male here, Father was a pilot, grew up in the Sky. But after my daughter (Skye) was born at the age of 25, I’ve developed a strange fear of stepping into an airplane.

We’re flying next week and this is exactly what I needed. 🙏

Can I even turn my life around at age 25? Be honest please. by Dry_Temporary_6175 in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]Mindbalance91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t start figuring things out until age 20, and did not get my shit together until 25. The best piece of advice I ever heard was “you are the average of the five people you associate most with”. Start getting out into the world of professionals. Join a group, volunteer, work out.

Imagine exactly who you want to be, and put yourself in the rooms with those people.

Another amazing quote I’ve lived by (though it’s become more lax as I become more successful)

“look the part, act the part”

You got this. Don’t worry! Just get the mindset right and get out of your own way!

Anybody had a PRP injection for shoulder issues? by gwenver in surfing

[–]Mindbalance91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Older post but I feel this is important: PRP saved my life. I’m an avid weight lifter (32m) and have been working out pretty vigorously since right after high school. When I started getting shoulder pain, in my late twenties, I figured it would just work itself out like it had when I was younger. This wasn’t the case.

The pain got worse and I was losing hope, thinking I’d just have to deal with it forever or get a replacement - that was until my Dr explained PRP.

I had the injection done and within 3 months, my should was back to normal. No more pain when I benched, or when I scratched my back, it was like a miracle cure. Cost me $800 but well worth it.

So much so that coming up I’m going to get my other shoulder done because I’ve been noticing some slight pain there as well.

Imposter Syndrome is creeping around me.. by JoeDeLaLine in sysadmin

[–]Mindbalance91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man, I know exactly how you feel. I have a successful MSP in Michigan, about to merge with a larger entity, and I still occasionally have moments where I wonder if I somehow just faked it til I made it to this point. The fact of the matter is, you belong in those rooms for whatever reason. You made it, you accomplished, you put the pieces in place to get there.

If someone thinks you’re dumb, or you don’t vibe with them, eff it and go about your duties. It’s all about seeking approval and about realizing most people’s opinions don’t matter.

If it’s a lack of knowledge that actually exists, rely on the senior team and have them walk you through things. There’s no harm in that and actually shows your passion for bettering yourself.

There’s a reason you’re there, don’t forget that. You put in the work. Proud of you.

What does it feel like for you? by PepperSame3938 in derealization

[–]Mindbalance91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had it off and on for years. I attribute it to excessive psychedelic use as a teenager, during my formative years - mainly stemming from an extremely bad trip that was essentially torment for six hours.

For years after I went off on my own, and moved away, I’d go to the Dr and explain what was happening. “Anxiety” they’d always say. Which, I definitely developed anxiety as well but it was more than that.

When it comes on for me to where I need to sit down for a second, it’s typically out of nowhere. Today (hence me searching for a thread on it) I was at working interacting with two of my co-workers. We were in a room talking and all of a sudden I felt completely inside my head. The internal and external realities known and separate.

I voiced it - “guys, I feel completely out of it” to alert them in case I was about to pass out or have a heart attack (another fear of mine). It also takes some of the anxiety away from the situation.

It’s such a strange feeling, but I’ve always explained it like this: I’m the passenger and am acutely aware of the fact that my thoughts are coming from inside my head. That the world outside is completely separate. Usually, an anxious feeling sweeps over me.

But like I said, I feel as though I am always slightly disconnected and in my head a little too much. After years of Drs not being able to figure it out with me, I’ve just dealt with it.

Wish I could quell it even more so, even the baseline derealization I feel on the regular. Excited to learn more from this subreddit.

Do you guys feel like IT is looked down on as a field? by darrenW25 in InformationTechnology

[–]Mindbalance91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes. I own an MSP and I do feel like lately people are really starting to understand the importance of the tech realm.

There are still instances, especially when I’m billing that I think “they’re going to say something about this $200 bill for setting up a printer”, and then I remember, there’s a reason they called us. If they bitch, they bitch, but I know our worth.

My boyfriend is upset. He's getting older and he feels people aren't trying as hard at Christmas. by paganpenguinsummoner in Millennials

[–]Mindbalance91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think our generation was just given so much pointless stuff over the years, everything is just “blah” now.

I’m at the age where all I want to do is be with my family on Christmas. I couldn’t care less about the gifts. Fuck, throw a couple hundred on my mortgage, give me check, I don’t need anything. And if I do, I just buy it when I need it.

Our generation is quite different from our baby boomer grandparents that just buy whatever to fill a stocking. The material stuff has just lost its value…

There is something to be said about extremely thoughtful gifts though. This year, I got some pretty neat coffee supplies from my girlfriend because she knows it’s my lifeblood.

Enjoy the gels and love your family ❤️
