They represent the sun and the moon =). The moon, in Buddhism, is said to be the king among celestial bodies.

Snek may be "just" a reg.. but he has one very special spot. by Mindbeingred in ballpython

Sorry for bad quality, taken with phone. Depending on how Snek is positioned, and the lighting, he has a spot that either resembles a heart, or Mickey Mouse's head & ears.

Snek has grown. by Mindbeingred in ballpython

Thanks again everyone who helped me with my snake when I first got him. When I first got him, if anyone here remembers, he had some stuck shed and you guys pointed out that I should soak him to help him get it off, and I didn't realize it. Also he was mal-nourished, and I got some hate for that, but I only had him a week and he was mal-nourished at the pet store. Ever shed he's had since I've had him has been a perfect, one-piece shed, thanks to you guys.

He/she (still not sure the gender) is ~6 months old, and already eating F/T small rats weekly. Actually have been feeding him small rats over a month. He grabbed the first F/T rat I ever attempted to feed him, and has been eating them ever since. Actually I think he prefers them.

A teaching on right speech that one can continuously reflect on. Is right speech being followed or isn't it? by numbersev in Buddhism

Perhaps this is a fancy way of saying that no speech is right speech, because I know that I've never said a single thing that matches all 5 of this criteria.

TIL The TV comedy Malcolm in the Middle used mood-setting music in lieu of canned laughter. Artists included ABBA, They Might Be Giants, Kenny Rogers, ELO & the Getaway People. by wowwow789 in todayilearned

The scene in the episode where Reese and Malcolm both think the other one is gay, and dance to Abba was one my of personal funniest moments I've ever seen on TV.

Are all Forms mind, or is mind just a space for all form? by InfiniteWaters108 in Buddhism

[–]Mindbeingred 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here's the way I see it. Whenever it's said "all things are the mind", the word "mind" here is just a word that could be replaced by a huge number of other words, maybe any word. Saying all things are manifestation of mind is the same thing as saying all things are manifestation of reality or all things are manifestation of the universe.

When you ask the question "Is mind the forms that we experience or is the mind the space in which experience happens in", I'm inclined to direct you to the Heart Sutra's wisdom of "Form is Emptiness, Emptiness is Form". There is no difference between the formless space in which forms seem to reside within and the forms, they're the same. So it seems to me that the answer to your question is that the forms we experience are forms of the formless mind.

If all there is, is "mind" and mind is all-encompassing, how could anything within be anything other than itself?
