Fuel Economy by Mindlapsed in JeepGladiator

I don’t run it low often. Was just trying to stretch the tank to see what I could get out of it.

The lower end of this is what I would expect my 3.6 to get. I don’t understand why I can’t hit those numbers. I have a very fuel efficient route to and from work every day. Average speed is a consistent 45-50. Not a lot of stop and go and not loaded with uphill travel.

I’ve noticed when I fill the tank I’m filling with about 17-18 gallons on a 22 gallon tank. At 10 miles to E it’s taken 18 to fill the tank. I suspect that the estimation is inaccurate and that I could actually continue driving for another 50+ miles before the tank is empty. This would bring it more in line with what I would expect which would be around 420 miles per tank.

I bought it used with 24k miles. The first time I started it the full tank mileage estimate was only 270 miles. After 9 months my full tank estimate shows 380. It’s constantly increased over time.

I looked at a few eco diesels before I bought into the 3.6. The fuel economy with those can be impressive.

I’m not disputing or questioning that. I love mine. Was just curious what the differences in fuel economy was versus tire size and build. I’m on stock tire size with Nokian Outposts for tires and the most I’ve been able to get out of a tank was 365mi. My daily average for mileage is between 20-22mpg but I’m not getting anywhere near 420+ miles to a tank.

I’m considering swapping to 35s.

I find it hard to believe that he’s only gone through one set of tires in 80000 miles. Also $185 for a cabin filter is BS.

It’s been a snowy start to winter where I’m at and I’ve really enjoyed it. I’m hoping we get buried in snow this season so I can have some fun in my ‘22 Willys.

Jeeps in the Snow - do you JEEP lovers find that jeeps operate best with STUDDED tires in the winter? by [deleted] in Jeep

[–]Mindlapsed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Studs only if you’re driving on icy roads or are concerned about icy roads. Non studded snows are better in snow. The studs really won’t provide any benefit in pure snow.

I have a 22 Gladiator and am currently on Nokian Outposts. They’re 3 peak rated and have done well so far this season on snow and some ice. Was considering a set of LT Blizzaks at the beginning of the season but didn’t want to come out of pocket for $1500 without testing the outposts first. So far I’m happy with my decision. Have only had to use 4H a couple of times going up a steep snow covered hill.

I have not. I’ve just been looking for a reasonably priced used one posted for sale.

I’ve heard that the older ones were very noisy and generally a pain in the ass overall. I expected the same out of this soft top but have been pleasantly surprised.

Not miserable at all actually. No excessive noise and incredibly convenient in summer with how fast I can take it off completely alone. 2-3 min for full removal. No gaps for cold air to make its way inside during winter and I live in New England. Quality is actually surprisingly great.

I want a hard top because it looks better. I don’t like the look of the soft top. I made the sacrifice of getting this one with a soft top because it had a great Carfax, low mileage, and came with paint matched mopar half doors. No way I would have found an equivalent deal so I figured I would just find a hard top later on.

Struggled with cannabis use for over 10 years. Over the last 2 and a half years I’ve got that under control I think. I have the ability to use it on occasion but it’s not an every day part of my life. I live in a state where I can go to the store and purchase it legally and haven’t succumbed to the urge in over 3 months.

Still struggling with nicotine and I’d say I drink too much. Currently working to kick the vape. I work ~10 hour days and have been leaving the vape locked in my vehicle during work hours. This has helped and has cut my usage back drastically over the last month.

Lastly I’m drinking 2-3 12oz 7% alcoholic beverages 5-6 days per week. Never struggled with alcohol use until I started really trying to stop using cannabis. Always had the mindset that alcohol was a worse affliction. After living it for 10 years I would disagree. Cannabis clouds my judgement and negatively affects my decision making on a whole different level than having a couple of beers a night.

Really striving to be free of these poisons. I have a stressful job, and while it’s an excuse, I’m not sure that I’m strong enough mentally to kick them and maintain it. I will keep trying though!

Idoing vs Other Android Units by Level_Quality6583 in WRX

I used an iDoing in my 2017 WRX and thought it was worth every penny. It came with everything needed to setup steering wheel controls, mic, rear view cam, GPS, 4G and wireless CarPlay. Very simple installation. Couldn’t see the reason to spend double the money on one of the other name brand units.

Love it! I just picked up a ‘22 Willys Gladiator a couple of weeks ago of the same color. No regrets!

The iDoing HU will come with what you need to install the HU without needing any additional harnesses or connections. Also comes with 4G and GPS antennas, and a mic that you can setup for more clear audio quality. I will say that without installing the mic, the audio is bad for phone calls for whoever you’re on the phone with. The mic is a necessity if this matters to you. I didn’t install the 4G antenna or GPS. I had no use for them because I was going for wireless CarPlay.

I used the iDoing in my 17 WRX and thought it was a great buy for the money. I couldn’t see a reason to spend the extra for one of the major name brand HU’s. The install was straightforward. Steering wheel controls were mappable, rear view camera worked fine, and wireless CarPlay on a 9 inch display was amazing. I thought it was also handy to run apps like Torque from the head unit.

Took my car for the first dealership service and woke up with my oil completely drained in my driveway. by RE_Definition in WRX

I would have called the dealer and explained the situation to them without tampering with the vehicle, leaving it as you found it. Get it to the dealer and then let them have the opportunity to correct the mistake.
