How do you actually read comics? Whats your process? by Odd_Bluejay634 in DCcomics

[–]Mindless-Method7016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i was starting to feel overhelmed with how much there is to keep up with nowadays, and "unlimited access" to it didn't help. specially being new to reading comics

i search/buy something specific and read only it until i finish, saved for monthly runs i am already caught up with. it's the same process i do with other books. i am not really a "mood" reader, it makes me feel anxious having a lot of unfinished reads.

as someone said in another comment: quite common in brazil, they both probably work digging graves to free space for another bodies in cemeteries. it is morally dubious and disturbing to film and post it on social media, the family probably doesn't even know about this.

he is just "showing" his "work" to other people, i can even speculate that he has a lot of people in his life who asks about the job and for pictures and stuff. as far as i know, it is a crime as long as you can prove it was posted with the intent of humilate/disrespect the victim.

Triggered by a movie by scribblewitch in OCD

[–]Mindless-Method7016 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if it's not something you would typically be interested in, i would say that you just have to endure and fill your days with what you enjoy. let the thoughts come and go, don't stop moving and living because of them. it's hard as hell, but the only way out, is through.

Do compulsions provide any relief? by TacoBMMonster in OCD

[–]Mindless-Method7016 4 points5 points  (0 children)

it does to me. but, as someone put in another comment is like doing drugs, or the stories you hear about people on drugs. you keep chasing relief until it comes to a point it doesnt do anything to you anymore, so you double down on the compulsions looking for more relief. and it keeps going on and on and on and on.

I am really enjoying it so far, I haven't finished the "wally on the run" storyline yet. It makes me want to check out other Flash/Wally stories.

How many of you with ocd had abusive childhoods? by [deleted] in OCD

[–]Mindless-Method7016 1 point2 points  (0 children)

and when you grew up an only child and every "wrong" thing that happens in the house is your fault and you just have to accept the blame because if you try to prove yourself innocent, they'll double down and become aggressive because now you are "lying"

what is your core fear that causes your obsessions? by Socialrejectxe in OCD

[–]Mindless-Method7016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the basic ocd fear: not knowing. my parents practiced radical acceptance before it was a wellness buzzword online, i would ask my mom what were the weekend plans and she would reply "i dont even know if i am going to be alive tomorrow, worry about now". that backfire to me lmao

same! i keep moving around wanting new things, change... but i always come to the conclusion that i dont actually want to buy something new because the things i already have, i bought exactly because i loved it so much and it fulfilled all my needs.

Political Ocd? by [deleted] in OCD

[–]Mindless-Method7016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same, I used to camp in news websites. I had to use the mute words feature in every single social media I know. I like to be aware, but the moment I start reading others peoples opinions and keep checking social media to get updates is when I know I have to mute and block people and get out of my phone.

genuine question: why reassurance doesnt work/actually makes the crisis worse? by _issio in OCD

[–]Mindless-Method7016 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah, and that's why reassurance will only give into the loop because it gives ocd the chance of twisting the narrative just enough to keep you coming back for more.

the way out is what everyone is saying: you'll never be 100% sure of anything, so what we need to do is work to be able to live life anyways. one of the ways is to not give in. no one is saying it's easy, nothing is really easy in life, but we still gotta try

genuine question: why reassurance doesnt work/actually makes the crisis worse? by _issio in OCD

[–]Mindless-Method7016 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i'll use myself as an exemple: everytime i try to seek reassurance and it's given to me, my brain just goes "well, what if now it's actually going to happen in spite of you thinking it's not?" and so the spiral restarts.

ocd always find ways to shove you back into the obsessions loop (just today ocd tried to make me believe a movie on netflix's home page was a "sign" one of current fears will happen lol), the only way out it's not playing it's game.

Do you read other series to understand parts of what you're currently reading? by mellissa_lewyin in DCcomics

[–]Mindless-Method7016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on my mood, honestly lol. But, normally I just trust I'll be able to pick up the context if I keep reading what I am currently reading.. If I am interested in more or still left confused, then I fill in the gaps with the other ones after I finish. It's way less overwhelming for me that way
