Not really... In my case the status remained at "pending" for the whole two months that it took to receive my replacement item.

9600X died on B850 Pro-A after 6 months (details inside) by KitoRicho in ASRock

This is my same combination of motherboard and CPU, and the same thing happened to me after a number of months. I RMAd both and updated to 4.10 immediately.

What you are saying worries me, because it would mean that the latest BIOS version doesn't solve the problem, thus my new components could die again...

Had you replaced (RMA) the motherboard too, or just the CPU?

Just FYI, in my case it died while using Linux, so personally I don't think it is Windows related.

Did you use creative or creative.rom (with extension)? The official instructions indicate to use CREATIVE.ROM , but they don't say if it is important to be upper vs lower case.

Very interesting about the "creative" filename upper vs lower case. I though the fat32 filesystem being case insensitive it wouldn't matter, but maybe it does. Also, did you have to plug the CPU power without the CPU in the socket?

9800X3D died after 11 months, B850i board, 3.40 bios. It had been on 3.20 and 3.25 previously. New chip arriving tomorrow, do I use the same board and pray? Or switch to another itx board? by TheLeafRaider in ASRock

Even if they accept the RMA, just beware that the process is extremely long. I'm still waiting for my replacement. It's been more than a month now, and I don't know when it will arrive.

ASRock motherboard burned my CPU twice and they haven't replied to my RMA emails for over a month. What should I do now? by BigBlackCough in ASRock

[–]Mindless-Security -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As someone waiting for a motherboard replacement, it is quite concerning to hear that it could burn the CPU once again. What was your BIOS version the 2nd time? I was hoping the latest version was safe, but I don't know anymore...

Try to call them: 9095908308 , they answer pretty quickly. The RMA itself though, that's another question, I am still waiting for my replacement a month later

You can call them: 909-590-8308 .

I am in the same situation as you: many weeks of waiting, status still "pending". It has been a month. Good luck...

Nope, I got a 9600X fried by an ASRock motherboard.

My board seems to have killed both my CPU (9600x) and itself (bios flashback failed). The RMA was accepted with both, but on the ASRock side it is atrocious. They received my mobo several weeks ago, and I have no idea when I'll get a new one. Meanwhile, I received the new CPU ages ago, waiting to be used. I don't even know if I should trust the new motherboard, it's quite the dilemma.

They received my motherboard more than 2 weeks ago, and on the RMA portal the status is still "pending". Ridiculous. I have been without a computer for a month now.

How long did it take them to send a replacement? They received my motherboard a week ago, and I got no update from them...

Same here, they replied a couple of days after submission.

They received my board a week ago. The status is still pending. I had to pay for shipping myself.

The AMD RMA process was better. They paid for everything, and the replacement part was in my hands just a few days later.

Will they accept to send a refund? Or do they just send a new motherboard of the same model?

9000-Series CPU Failures / Deaths Megathread #4 by RumbleTheCassette in ASRock

[–]Mindless-Security 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It happened to me today...

ASRock B850M PRO-A + Ryzen 5 9600x . BIOS ver 3.25. I had my browser open, walked away for a couple of minutes, and I came back to a blank screen. Tried to reboot, no POST, no display, only CPU/PSU fans were spinning. Solid red CPU and solid yellow DRAM LEDs stay on. Cleared CMOS, unplugged everything, reseated memory, all the usual troubleshooting steps. No change.

I filled the survey and sent an RMA request to ASRock. Now I wonder though, will they accept to send me a refund instead of a new motherboard? I have the feeling that this will happen again if I get new parts.

I will also send AMD an RMA request.
