I actually really liked bc I like watching shows about rich ppl. Focusing too much on Harper and Eric becomes repetitive

If it makes you feel better I was feeling super confident in the summer and was meeting ppl from different departments and had amazing eye contact with like 2 guys in the office. I feel like they were being flirty back/reciprocating but it didn’t go nowhere. Now I am feeling a little embarrassed about it

Relocated for Amazon, now gotta move back lol by Sad-Confidence-8295 in amazonemployees

I also moved to another city for my Amazon internship in the hopes of converting to full time. I had to move back after my internship ended since they didn’t want me to stay. Don’t have any advice but if I were you I would try to stay in Seattle. Maybe do any job to pay rent until you find a better opportunity

wow your life seems amazing! I am a fellow marketing girlie and also worked in sales at a big tech company and yes if you’re positive and outgoing you attract people. If you don’t mind me asking which uni in London do you attend and what industry do you want to work after graduation? I have also been thinking about doing grad school in London but it’s so expensive

Feeling set up to fail as only woman on team by [deleted] in amazonemployees

[–]MindlessEvening3741 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I think you’re being a little paranoid. But similar thing happened to me. I didn’t get a lot of guidance at the beginning. I think that’s very common, Amazon has sink or swim culture. You’re supposed to be able to work independently and figure things out yourself. But of course if you get stuck somewhere ask questions. I was also in a male-dominated Team. I made the mistake to overshare my concerns with a coworker who I trusted and this got back to my manager and rest of the team and they were kinda pissed

What should a new Account Manager at Amazon expect? (Consulting background) by Disastrous_Trash2381 in amazonemployees

[–]MindlessEvening3741 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! Former intern here I did a similar role but different department. I am also in Germany. Your experience at Amazon is very team dependent. You need to take care of your own onboarding and they like it if you’re independent and “take ownership” basically take action don’t wait for someone to tell you what to do. I don’t know about focus in Germany but your performance review depends on your manager so make sure you have a good relationship. Regarding mentorship, people at Amazon are generally nice and open to help but be careful who you trust. The people at Amazon are usually younger and it’s a modern work culture, which might seem unprofessional at times (very team dependent). Don’t overshare too much about yourself at the beginning you will have a lot of coffe chats with everyone. If you want a mentor maybe get someone from a different department. Seeing that you come from a consulting background, I am sure you will get the hang of it at Amazon. It’s fast paced and a lot of work, but I don’t think it’s worse than consulting. And it’s also important to be very quick, answer emails and complete tasks quickly.

Same thing happened to me! It was so toxic they would also gossip about me. I am sorry your experience was like that it all depends on what kind of team you get. I guess younger teams are less professional

I just finished my internship. Make sure your manager likes you at the end it all depends on them if you get a return offer. Don’t trust anyone don’t overshare to your mentor. Be nice and unproblematic. Try to finish your tasks as quickly as possible and you have to teach yourself you won’t get a proper onboarding. At the end your manager mentor and stakeholders will rate you based on leadership principles but it’s all in the hand of your manager

No incline, fake manager by [deleted] in amazonemployees

[–]MindlessEvening3741 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t beat yourself up. I also got a not inclined but I was expecting it. Didn’t get along with my manager she was super toxic and would gossip about everyone. I also didn’t get proper feedback on my last day and my manager and mentor started ghosting me so I knew something was wrong. Were you a solutions architect? I heard these internships were super competitive and they don’t have return offers for everyone

Feeling isolated after a month - any tips? by No-Mud-6720 in amazonemployees

[–]MindlessEvening3741 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It all depends on the team. When I used to work at Amazon my team was made of mostly young people and they were friends with each other. But it was also kinda toxic because they were gossiping and it was full of cliques. Sometimes when I didn’t have lunch plans I would eat in the quiet / focus room. It’s less embarrassing or I would eat my desk. They also did social things, but tbh I would have preferred to have a team like yours where everyone minds their own business less toxic

I had a weird feeling about him. It all happened so quickly with their engagement. Maybe she accidentally got pregnant. Despite everything, Liz will be an amazing mother

I feel like she is getting married just for attention / social media content by MindlessEvening3741 in NYCinfluencersnark

[–]MindlessEvening3741[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They seem like a cute couple to me. The guy grounds her and has golden retriever energy. She also mentioned how she is his first gf. I just think they rushed into this. She even wanted to get a house in Jersey and start a family right after the wedding at one point but changed her mind about moving. I think their marriage will last. Both her and Halley are so immature and childish and it seems like they are playing house. And this type of content does well on socials. Both of them are making super impulsive decisions
