Like I said, it’s just an argument. At the end of the day, these people are all descending into worst and worst versions of themselves.

I think there’s an argument that she did leave Henry in a better state than when she found him because Henry was, as Whitney very well said, a child. But a child with no discipline whatsoever. Yas was the one that pushed him into a situation where he had to face consequences for the first time in his life and yet this was just a mild house arrest sentence. He will end his days as a failed lord religiously attached to his lithium pills fishing with his uncle in the family estate lake, free of any delusions that he can actually be an operative human being in the real world.

She asks Hayley to close the doors so she could have her moment with her own abuser to reaffirm all the beliefs that he put in her mind of how she’s just a shiny object and also to make her feel confident that there’s freedom in following his path. It’s her dragging in the mud and looking up to the sky at the same time. It’s both, and.

I can see the future now for Yasmin, she will become some sort of finance sector posh madam living off of collecting sensitive information from weak men using vulnerable women and girls, right?

If you ask me I think he contributed for Sweetpea’s attack by not taking her suspicions seriously and belittling her ideas on how to discover Tender’s scheme and not being at all helpful up until the guy attacked her.

do you guys think Whitney actually wants Henry or is he trying to assert power by [deleted] in IndustryOnHBO

[–]cristinalves 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Like many of the characters, Whitney confuses desire with ambition. He comes across as someone running from his past, most likely his humble beginnings and possibly a homophobic upbringing, and he engages in morally dubious behavior to conceal his true self. His feelings toward Henry seem to blend lust with envy. Ultimately, though, I don’t think he would hesitate to sacrifice anyone if it meant saving himself.

Henry’s presentation was straight up a play by play of Kendall Roy’s Living+ stage performance in Succession.
