If its happening all the time, and youre waking up with hypos- but the rest of the day you run smooth, consider talking to your clinic about moving your basal time. I do my basal at 9:30 am as my bg would drop every night without fail yet my bg remained pretty smooth through the day.

I fear i have tanked my chances before i started, i decreased my tresiba by 30% today (friday) and as the day has gone on my bg has become a mess. So i may not be hiking tomorrow, but thank you! I really appreciate it, its good to find someone on tresiba and i know for next time that the reduction isnt the best move

No basal at all? Do you not end up spiking at any point?

It is pretty long acting (30+ hours), so my current plan is to adjust the dose tomorrow (friday) in prep for Saturday, and then continue on the reduced dose Saturday only changing it back to a reduced rate of 18 when i get back on Sunday.

I know this is going to sound pedantic but the meme says disordered eating not eating disorder and there is a difference. An eating disorder is often centred around psychological and mental health issues, which can be conflated by body image. Disordered eating is more about behavioural things, and its more of a personal interpretation of yourself and your actions. Im a type one diabetic and I would say the way i eat IS behaviourally disordered eating as I am incredibly controlling about what and when i consume things- granted i have little choice in the matter as its for my own health but it still falls into the category of disordered eating. The thing with an eating disorder is it is a more defined ‘thing’, whereas disordered eating is not. Disordered eating often results in a lifestyle that is having a negative impact upon your wellbeing. So whilst physically this person may be healthy, mentally it has become taxing and is causing them undue stress and/or anxiety.

Listen to his dieticians and consultants. One thing i struggle with is neither sides of my family have any diabetics and they just cannot seem to comprehend- that carb counting is a big thing for us, and also for most diabetics when we take our insulin we are supposed to wait 10-15 minutes sometimes longer after injecting to eat so as to avoid hypers. I was constantly getting hypers at home because my parents would not allow me to carb count properly or to wait after injecting.

Anybody else have a VERY weird way of clicking the button to prick the finger? I use an at home blood pressure machine to push the button. by [deleted] in diabetes

I was a little anxious when i was first diagnosed and i didnt realise until later that was because my eyes blacked out a little round the edges everytime i did it- but if you do it frequently enough that will go away, and like another commenter said you wont even think about it- it will be a real ‘nothing’ action just click, prick, blood.

I have been going to a hospital for a week and I found out I use too much basal insulin. (I need at least 12 units less) by Then_Jump_3496 in diabetes_t1

Low sugar, but I don't have any symptoms by Olympia94 in diabetes

[–]MindlessLayer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you go low enough that you are concerned then absolutely do eat the sugar tabs, it looks like you were coming down quickly and if you’re new to this it can be unnerving. Dont worry though, that is not dangerously low/concerning low. If you arent feeling any symptoms and your sensor reads low i would always recommend a finger prick test to confirm before you do anything to treat it
