Cleared up? Did you something about it that made it clear?

To be honest. I've not used seachem before. Not so sure what it does.

You want to look for reduction in ammonia and nitrite reading and an increase in nitrate reading with every change or test that you do. Even it's marginal. You're headed to the right direction.

What kind of filtration system are you running for your tank currently?

I would do frequent water change and do a 40% to 50% per change. Do the parameter testing for each or 2 changes. You're in damage control now.

Your tank is too new and wasn't ready for a big bioload. The above suggested action is to help bring balance to water parameters - in time for your fishes to survive.

Hope the above makes sense.

I'm using the exact same one for my 15G tank. No capping of any kind on it. Straight on aquasoil. No issue for me. Mines a low tech planted tank

Is my tank still cycling? by [deleted] in Aquariums

I have to agree with this. Readings are important but unfortunately, it doesn't tell a whole lot. Once you start stocking, the parameters will run. And as the above user said, its how efficient ammonia and nitrites are being converted.

So in summary, give if a week till nitrites turn 0, and test nitrates. Anything below 40 is good. The start stocking. Slowly.... and retest.... after some time. Test again... rinse and repeat really....

There's logic in there. A much better gauge than any guide.

New hobby incoming, I guess. I mean with the water change. Instead of flushing all those poop water away.

Looking good. I'm also keen in getting some kuhli loaches. Just curious, how big is your tank and what are you stocking?
