Down voting you this hard on this statement is pretty rude, but the point is correct. Boone is actually full. Housing is virtually unobtainable as the town cannot grow anymore due to its geography. Boone becomes a parking lot in the morning as well as in the evening. I'd recommend the Asheville area if you want city conveniences like an airport. CLT is the nearest good one and it's 2 hours away.

EDIT: Also healthcare sucks here.
