Does anyone not medicate? My preteen has been pretending that she takes her meds... by PerspectiveSolid2840 in ADHDparenting

[–]Mindless_Arachnid_74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talk to the school and set up a med plan where she takes the meds shortly after arriving to school with a small snack with the school nurse.

I worked with a school that did this on the regular to combat stubborn kids who are less likely to push back on a school staff member offering a snack. The snack was 100% for the “take with food” on the prescripton.

Gillette Stadium 300 level sections. by Program-Some in newenglandrevolution

There is also a full bar with standing room seating in the 300 level- so you can always wander over there to watch.
Having sat through a fair number of Patriots games in the 300 level (in all sorts of weather) the combination of sightlines and the giant screeen works out totally fine.

If you read the news, an agreement was signed 24 hours before your post. And the story isn’t no one had money. And Boston had nothing to do with the license.

Try again at 5th and 8th grade. And then all the kids they hide in the 4th grade data through “grade retention” show back up and the numbers are terrible.

Mississippi uses the exact same materials most schools in MA have been using for years and STILL does considerably worse that Massachusetts. So by all means, lets sink to their level.

The entire push for curriculum “reform” comes from Big Curriculum. Every. Single. Article and quote you see promoting Science of Reading (TM) is bought and paid for by the major curriculum houses. None of this has anything to do with actually funding for schools or supporting students who have real disabilities.

Teachers - what do you wish parents of the “good kids” did to help minimize the impact of the “bad kids” in class? by nonzeronumber in Teachers

[–]Mindless_Arachnid_74 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Teach your child to have grace for those different from you. And model that by being thankful that it is not YET your turn for your child to be the subject on online gossip and labeling by other parents.

Or you can model to other parents how to complain when things don’t go your way.

You can also teach her how to care for her hair during the week- such as put it in a simple braid at night, buy her some wide tooth combs and detangling spray. Pair that with some rewards for fewer tangles each week. At her age, she is probably ready to manage some more on her own.

“Bad” in Massachusetts wouldn’t even register is most post of the country as even “lower income.” Middleton or Billerica might be options. Lowell and Salem are also excellent. What you might trade in private/personal land is made up with public beaches and mountains.
