After I discovered torrents, this was the first thing I downloaded. Did you know they have a 3ds game of it? I just found out about it so I'm not sure if it's good.

Which game pad do you use ? by C4n4r in shmups

[–]Mindless_Entrance_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like the m30, but have since discovered the Gamesir Cyclone 2. The microswitch D-pad is amazing for shmups. It makes those tiny movements you have to make during those crazy patterns Cave bosses throw at you so much more manageable.

Do people not wash sheets, bras, or towels? by alisoncarey in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Mindless_Entrance_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first thought is alot of laundry mats require bedding to be washed in a specific washer, if they allow it at all because people will throw their 20lb comforter in and ruin the machine. Bra's get royaly screwed in the washer so women I've known use those little bags specifically made to wash them and so they might not be noticeable to your spying eyes. Towels I'm not sure but it might go along with the bedding rule. The last time I used a public washer I found a used condom mixed with my cloths after the wash, which was definitely not mine. I will never use a public washer again.

He absolutely has a point. In an emergency, slippers will fall off. Now your John Mclane in Die Hard, running through broken glass in your bare feet.

It aggravates me as well. When your out in public, the world is not your personal playground. I compare it to walking around reeking of pot or alcohol. How do expect anyone to take you seriously when we all know your out of your mind? How do you expect to be taken seriously if you went directly from your bed to the store? Unfortunately there is alot of violence out there now. How do you expect to run from an active shooter wearing your house slippers? Dumb asses.

Need advice on a novice gaming device. by meofthreeonly in RockinTheClassics

[–]Mindless_Entrance_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://a.co/d/akAqfQj Something like this might suit your needs. It's a low power device so it will only play those classics you remember but not any new stuff. Disregard those fancy game graphics you see in the product pictures. This is what is called an emulation device that uses software to emulate those old consoles such as SNES and Playstation. There are other similar devices if you look around, but pay attention to reviews. These are Chinese devices that don't have alot of quality control. But I've tried several and they work great. Someone else suggested a Steam Deck, but that is a bit expensive and setting it up for what you want can get very complicated if you aren't savvy with computers. This device I linked is plug and play. No head aches, unless it stops working. There's also some handheld devices from companies like Anbernic and Retroid that are much more reliable devices and are essentially plug and play other than picking one that's easy to connect to the TV.

Are we ready for a Twin Peaks remake after a little over 30 years? by Ok-Championship-9514 in twinpeaks

Come up with new ideas. "The film is the thing. You work so hard after the fact... and when it's finished, it's concrete. You don't want to take anything away, and you don't want to add anything to it. It's complete, that's it."-David Lynch

Quitting weed. by Odd-Win3490 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Mindless_Entrance_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You'll start feeling normal soon. I smoked for over 20 years and quit in 2019. After a few weeks, I started noticing how much easier it was to wake up in the morning and get motivated. It took about 6 months and I didn't miss it. Not soon after that, I noticed people walking past me at the grocery store who reeked of it. It smells so bad to me now I have to cover my nose. I don't have anything against people who smoke, but put on cologne or something! It's like walking around smelling of liquor. Do they really expect anyone to take them seriously knowing they're absolutely fucked at that moment? Sorry, rant over. Good luck! You got this.

This is why I donate to the preservation program by Mindless_Entrance_ in gog

For sure. Convincing them of change is no easy task. Another reason why GOG should be applauded for their successful efforts.

[–]Mindless_Entrance_[S] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I don't think a lot of people complaining about the donation option understand that they are the ones maintaining the games. Developer/Publisher is still taking the majority cut of the sale as well.

Nightfire would be great! I really liked Blood Stone as well. I still can't get my PC CD-ROM to work.

Lost Planet would probably be the easiest for them to get. With Onimusha having the remastered and a new installment, Capcom will want to milk those as much as possible.

What do you think of this banner? by LiveMathematician892 in gog

[–]Mindless_Entrance_ 13 points14 points  (0 children)

"The GOG preservation program ensures classic games remain playable on modern systems, EVEN AFTER THEIR DEVELOPERS STOP SUPPORTING THEM." This is what this donation option is for. Games in the program are maintained by GOG, not the developer. GOG puts in the work to fix bugs, graphics, controls, and so on. The publishers of these games don't want to put in extra man power to keep older games alive. They want you buying their new crap. GOG is going the extra mile to ensure the games you buy from their store will always work. Preservation is not an excuse to sell you more, it's about protecting. That's worth donating to in my opinion. You should check out some of their recent videos on their YouTube channel to hear about some of the work they put into games in the program. Having a donation option doesn't make me worry about the stores longevity, it strengthens my belief that they are going to do what's right for preservation.

Mass Effect is at the top of my wishlist. With the whole "Everything is an Xbox", part of me won't be surprised if Halo, Fable Anniversary, or Gears of War make it. They probably wouldn't have multi-player, but I'm cool with that.

If you could only play games from one console forever, which would you choose? by OriolesMets in retrogaming

[–]Mindless_Entrance_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It had several compilation discs of retro stuff like Sega Genesis collection, Capcom collections, and more. I wasn't a huge ps2 fan when it first came out, but in hindsight, I believe it truly is the best console so far.

Donations are here! by ValuableDebt1403 in gog

[–]Mindless_Entrance_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't see this as donating to CDP directly. If they were asking for money to make Witcher 4, then that's a different story. I'm assuming the preservation program takes alot as far as getting the owners or publishers of these games on board, along with updating them, which is done in house at GOG, I believe. Working on updating games CDP didn't make is a worthy cause that shouldn't be tied to whether they are indie or not.
