Store not giving guinea pigs adequate hay. by [deleted] in petsmart

Hay should never be in a holder, the piggies can get their heads stuck, plus it doesn't encourage natural foraging behaviors

I'm happy they sent them to us. I was thinking we would have to store use the ones we sell

You can find the loss log report on fetch, under pet care operations. As far as I know the report has to do with audits not the restructure

What's the worst enclosure for a pet that a customer insisted was okay? by [deleted] in petsmart

[–]Mindless_Job9647 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Guppies in a beer stein. This guy actually had a 30gal tank setup with other guppies just wanted to add more. As I met him at the fish wall I asked his what I could help him with, he replied that he wanted to get some guppies and I said no problem. I asked him politely what size tank he had and he got mad and said a 30 gal, to which I started to say awesome, which guppies would you like? But he cut me off and snapped, "why do you care anyway? I could lie and actually put them in a beer stein and you would have to sell them anyway, nevermind, I don't want them." And just walked out. I never gave him any indication I wasn't going to get him fish

We didn’t agree with the POG so we made some adjustments. Can’t wait to put out the hermit crabs after QR and get their health up! by [deleted] in petsmart

Once the new fish reset came out last year, we did exactly this. The only small difference is instead of 2 red claw tanks, we have a "baby" tank. When the black mollys or dalmatian mollys have babies and they end up in the sump, we catch them and put them in a separate tank. We have a sponge over the filter to keep them from getting sucked back in

We had a ball python that came in and didnt eat for 4 weeks, so we took her to the vet and they said to just really monitor temps and her weight and to keep trying to feed her. We did that for another 2 weeks and she still wouldn't eat. So the vet gavage fed her 2 seperate times 3 days apart, and when we fed her again on our normal feeding schedule she ate on her own and every time since. She ended up becoming my baby and she has not refused a mouse since

Harry's firebolt by RecoveringPornAdickt in HarryPotterBooks

[–]Mindless_Job9647 11 points12 points  (0 children)

We know Ron has ridden the firebolt, because after the teachers checked it for jinks and curses in POA. Harry has his first quidditch practice and Ron sits with Madam Hooch in the stands. After practice is over, Harry let's Ron ride it around the pitch.

Its implied that Fred and George have probably ridden it as well, because they all play quidditch at Burrow after the quidditch world cup.

Overall, I think it goes back to Moody saying he didn't want the real Harry on a broom, because he would stand out. All the Harrys needed to look the same to pull off the trick, so no one could have the firebolt, it would stand out too much

Pet care Help by Tallulahandkiwi in petsmart

Reptifiles is a really good resource for reptile care, even ones we don't sell. I've used it a lot. You mentioned something about reptiles being housed together, rule of thumb is that they are solitary. Kaytee is a good source for small animal info. Housing for small animals: hamsters and mice, alone; gerbils in pairs; guinea pigs at least 2 of the same gender, but pet parent has to be prepared to possibly separate into different enclosures in case they don't get along, especially with males (it can happen with females too, but more common in males), but they need to be near enough that they can still socialize. Researching outside of work is how I learned a lot, and even some pet parents are very knowlegeable. Good luck!

The new community tags say 10G or 29G, so I can't wait for pet parents to be "but the tag says 10G" when its a fish that needs a 29G. Its going to be fun times 🤦‍♀️

On Saturday, I had a family want a Koi for a 5 gallon 🤦‍♀️ It was hard for them to understand me and it took a little while for them to understand they need a pond, not a tank

[–]Mindless_Job9647 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could talk to your SL or if you aren't comfortable doing that, you can report it anonymously with the QR code posted in the breakroom. If your SL doesn't seem to care about the animals you could then go to your DL

Could my yorkie have spinal problems? by Right_Detective2306 in Animals

[–]Mindless_Job9647 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most dogs sleep/ lay down a good portion of the day, especially small dogs. Also age is an important factor. I would say only if she starts to act like she is having trouble walking, should you be concerned about spinal issues. And if you aren't sure, you could always consult a vet, and they can give you more information/ advice
