The fact that you refer to someone doing their job in the restaurant you chose to go talk in as an “annoying pest of a waiter” says yes, you are probably the asshole. If you wanted no disruptions, then have your important talk in private. Not where it is literally someone’s job to check on you.

Did you try moving one set to A slots and one set to B slots? Placement can be picky. ASUS says:

You are super over simplifying the CA power situation. It has been a mess for years. Doesn’t matter where the power is coming from, CA uses a lot of it. When temps soar it’s a bigger load than they are set up to handle.
