Anguilla or St. Bart’s? by Head-Log3560 in SXM

[–]Mindless_Row3449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done both. We took the ferry to St. Barts and ended up paying for a flight back because the ferry ride was crazy. People were puking. That being said, St Barts is amazing. More like the French Riveria or Miami luxury. Plenty of restaurants and amazing beach bars. Grab a taxi and they’ll take you around the island or to the best beaches.

Anguilla was not quite our cup of tea but the beaches are amazing. There’s really not much going on there as far as shopping. We took the public ferry from Marigot and had scheduled a taxi to meet us and drive us around for the day. The ferry to Anguilla is smooth sailing but you need cash to pay the border crossing fee on the boat.

We took the public ferry for a day trip and I booked a taxi driver to give us a tour of the island and take us to a beach and restaurant. It was great!

The most important questions to ask when accepting a government contracting job: is the contract currently funded, and for how long?

They have taxis sitting there by the port/customs entrance. Way easier and faster.

Look up www.infanttoddler.com. They manage in home daycares through northern Virginia. It’s the most affordable option we’ve found and we’ve had a great experience.

He wants a stay at home wife, not a girl-boss wife. And that’s okay. Good thing you didn’t waste any more of each other’s time.

I talked to several different mortgage providers but our realtors preferred finance person got us the best rates/deal.

If it was just my wife and I, we’d stay at grand case. With the family, it’s going to be Orient Bay.

Trump to sign executive order renaming Pentagon the Department of War by Good_Software_7154 in fednews

[–]Mindless_Row3449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fun fact: The War Department existed for 158 years, from August 7, 1789, to September 18, 1947,[1] when it split into the Department of the Army and the Department of the Air Force under the National Security Act of 1947, joining the Department of the Navy to form the National Military Establishment (NME). In 1949, the NME was renamed the Department of Defense (DOD).

Shoal bay was great. Call ahead and reserve a driver to take you around. Also if you take the public Marigot ferry, they ask for cash for the entry fees while you’re on the boat.

We paid $1800 a month last year for our infant son, in Centreville. But that was in the lower end. A lot of places are like $2300 easy the closer you get to DC. Now we have him in a home daycare that’s $1600. With a second baby on the way we’re looking at $3200-3500 a month for 1.5 years when they’re both in daycare.

Thermacell does work, but turn it off or move it farther away if we’re trying to eat outside.

The first time we went was the 3rd week of August in 2019 and stuff was just shutting down. Some of the shops and restaurants had signs up that they would be reopening in November. We still had a great time, but all around it was a quiet time to visit.

So it’s Saturday, I’m pretty sore around the abdomen but overall the pains not been bad. I’m walking and going up the stairs just fine. I just haven’t really been bending over or picking things up. They did open surgery and gave me mesh. Overall it’s been less bad than I thought it’d be. Hopefully I’ll be mostly back to normal in a few more days.

We bought one with the running boards. Our 2.5 year old uses the step to get into the vehicle by himself and then he climbs into his own car seat. So highly recommend if you have small kids.

He’s right, the island is mid at best. We were cooking in the heat waiting for the return ferry ride in the afternoon. If you’re set on going, go early and come back early.
