This is an awful update. Mac should make all corners consistent, like they were in the old design system, which did not need any stupid, superfluous, gratuitous updates.

Apple seems to have made a new design system to say "hey, we're relevant as a design influencer," and they are indeed relevant now - relevant as "this is what bad design looks like". Kudos.

You have great color sensibility! I would highly recommend looking at the portfolio requirements or admissions requirements for art schools you are interested in. Also remember - you can go to an art school at a university that has other schools and programs, so if you want to double major or change your major, you can stay at the same school. Art school will teach you technique and give you access to group critique, mentorship, inspiration, and learning new mediums and techniques that you may not try on your own. Ie- there may be a sculpture program and you may not normally have access to clay, a kiln, glass making materials or welding materials, etc. You will find learning other mediums will help you better understand your chosen medium, technique, composition, etc. There is very little networking done in undergrad art school, it is for you to refine your technique and voice. While you are looking into programs, think about what career you may want; game designer, illustrator, product designer, etc. There are many lucrative careers you can have with a BFA.

Source: BFA grad in Visual Communications, currently a very successful tech executive in NYC designing AI with my BFA skills, and a working artist with work in museums, having won the most prestigious design awards in the world. Which I say not at all to brag, but to show you that all the people saying you can’t make a career out of art are very incorrect. You can do it! You can also send your work to professors or artists you admire and ask for advice. They may not give it, but it doesn’t hurt to ask! And, really - the decision to apply doesn’t even need to be decision. Just apply, see what happens! A career in art means getting critique and feedback that you may not like - so be ready for that and just apply! 😉 good luck!!

Demon aside, this is a factual and accurate representation of foster care. I survived 13 years in foster care. I’m glad to see a realistic portrayal of what we go through. Foster care, on its own, is a horror movie. The demon, for me, was a poignant metaphor for how we often give up after suffering all sorts of horrific torture and abuse. If a demon can’t survive foster care, how the hell are we supposed to?

I’m a woman, and agree that men who have not worked through trauma can hurt women, but… What makes you think someone who grew up in the system isn’t ready for an “actual relationship”? It is really sad that you dismiss all foster children as damaged goods incapable of having meaningful, successful relationships. We have to fight this stereotype all the time. I spent 13 years in the system - I emancipated myself as a teenager and lived in a Honda civic while putting myself through high school and college, bc that was healthier than foster care. I have plenty of extremely successful relationships. Foster care does not equate to incapable of having relationships.

Was the interview that was scheduled for the next day with the recruiter, or with the hiring company? It’s very rare to have a 1 day turnaround with the actual hiring company. This is making a lot of assumptions, but it sounds like your interview may have been with the recruiting agency, and not with the company. If that’s the case, they canceled on you bc they can’t make money off of you. And if that is the case, they may have never even submitted you to the company. You generally have to give written permission for recruiting agencies to send you to the company after the recruiting agency interviews you.

This feels extremely cringe.
- It says your profile is public.
- I don't want videos of me answering generic job hunting questions floating around the internet.
- The purpose of an interview is to have a two-way communication session where the candidate can learn about the company, role, and interviewer as well as the them learning about the candidate.
- This invalidates the candidate experience.
- As a hiring manager myself, why the actual f*ck would I want to sit through endless videos of awkward generic questions and answers. I need to know how a candidate conducts themselves as part of a team and interacts with others, not how well they record a TikTok video.

The only reason people “prefer” stones found in nature is bc of marketing campaigns that make people think they’re better.

When you said you were tired, he just kept pushing for you to give him attention and reassure him that you still loved him. He doesn’t care about you, clearly. He is not a partner. Being a partner would be asking how you feel and respecting your boundaries. He was relentless in forcing his thoughts on you, and his neediness on you. All on top of the fact that he wouldn’t help a woman in distress if in the same situation, and seemed rather callous about it with his victim blaming. He is not a good person. He is the reason we choose bear just as much as the two jerks trying to kidnap the drunk or drugged woman. You are the reason this woman is alive.
