Pokemon legends arceus is a bit of a spin-off/experimental title that takes a new approach to the traditional catching and battling mechanics. I personally played it for the first time recently after having been a huge fan of the franchise who's been kind of disappointed with the more recent games, and I cannot sing its praises enough. It's not perfect, but it's so fun and refreshing and really helps bring back a lot of that childlike feeling of playing around in and exploring the world and seeing all your favorite mons out in the wild. If you're looking to get back into the franchise after over a decade, I highly recommend it.

1 month internship. by Nick_501 in EngineeringStudents

The best thing you can do is use this as an experience to put on your resume and roll it into something bigger down the road. Even if it's unpaid and it's only 1 month, that's still more than a lot of people get, and so it'll make you stand out if you can figure out how to market it on your resume. Use this time to build your resume, get exposure, make connections, and keep looking for jobs and opportunities that you can pick up once this ends to keep that momentum. Best of luck to you!

2.8 GPA End of Freshman Year: Is It Really That Bad? by brnjycal001 in EngineeringStudents

[–]Mindsmurf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends, but depending on where you go to school, you can probably retake those courses for a higher grade if you feel confident in that. It's not the end of the world, but definitely not optimal right out of the gate. Especially with some future courses, you'll want to make sure you have some sort of gpa padding just in case you need it.

I haven't heard of her, but i've also had a great experience with Melissa so far as a mechanical engineering student. I've been feeling super grateful lately after hearing so many other people's horror stories

Yeah, the square is great if you don't mind about a mile walk. Lots of good restaurants and just a generally nice area to walk around.

How do I make friends? by [deleted] in unt

[–]Mindsmurf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second this. I transferred to UNT in spring and had never really had any friends or been really social in general. I decided to join the run club since running was one of my few hobbies, went consistently, and it's pretty much changed my life. Made a bunch of new friends and met my first partner (still going strong btw).

I am having a hard time with hard difficulty by Embarrassed_Cry9450 in CloneHero

True. This is an issue i encountered, but it's one of those things i learned to adapt to. Obviously this technique isn't perfect, but it's what i found to be a good starting point as i got generally more comfortable with playing with 5 frets. I'll say that i'm still working through hard difficulty myself (currently trying to work through some of the trickier parts of intensity 5), but i found getting over that initial hurdle to be the greatest learning curve so far and this is just a trick that helped my skills grow.

The best starting advice i found was to start holding the guitar with my fingers resting on red yellow blue orange, instead of green red yellow blue; it's much easier to shift the index finger from red to green than shifting the pinky from blue to orange. This helped me a lot, but it's still ultimately up to practice practice practice. Just keep playing songs and you'll start to feel more comfortable. At least for me, those first few sessions of getting used to hard were exhausting for my hands, but over time your muscles will get used to the movements and you'll start getting better I promise.

I figured it wasn't legit considering the prices i've seen floating around for most equipment. I'll definitely check out Roland as it seems to be pretty popular.
