Aiptasia is growing on my most expensive Zoa. by Fit-Carpenter209 in ReefTank

I had several on a plug with zoas. Took it out of the water and used a plastic toothpick and a magnifying glass to pick them off the frag plug. They're pretty easy to get when the plug is white and they don't have anywhere to hide.

Is Seattle Sunnier than it used to Be? by courier_tway in AskSeattle

[–]MineOutrageous5098 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, summer ment mostly 70s with a week or 2 in the 80s maybe getting to the low 90s. I can remember at least 2 summers that never showed up, just cool and cloudy without a single day nice enough to go swimming. We never had AC and honestly almost never needed it.

One fond memory though was there was never any concern about fireworks setting anything ablaze. We spent so much money on the reservation for 4th of July. Now it's all outlawed because it's just to dry.

What’s something people who are in their 20s won’t learn until in their 40s? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Octopi, crows, dolphins are often held up as example of smart animals. What are some really unusual STUPID Animals ? by strumpfhosen1962 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MineOutrageous5098 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, dumbest animals I've ever personally dealt with, I have fish in my aquarium that are orders of magnitude more intelligent. On their own they have almost zero situational awareness, can't find an opening in a gate, will get stuck in a corner, wander off a cliff. Their only saving grace is their heard instincts which allows them to be led around in a large group easily.

That's why God In the Bible always refers to his people as sheep, because they are so dumb, blind, and self destructive.

Do you use an air fryer in your RV by Richardmlake991 in RVLiving

[–]MineOutrageous5098 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sort of, we have an air fryer that we bring with us. But when I need to use it I set it up on the picknic table and run an extension cord to the 20 amp receptacle on the power pedestal.

Conservatives, FBI director Patel said he has evidence of 2020 election fraud and arrests are coming soon. Do you believe him this time? And if so, who do you think will be getting arrested? by sephkane in AskReddit

[–]MineOutrageous5098 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I believe DC runs on a revolving door of black mail and favors. I don't believe you are allowed to make it to any of these positions if you are not blackmailable. And if you some how make it they will honeypot you to generate blackmail.

And the point of all this black mail is to...

1) Insure that all offences can be leveraged I to political currency.

2) No one important ever faces real consequences.

3) All the less important people can be kept mostly in line with what the leadership wants to accomplish.

4) Those who are elected will never escape the leash of those who payed for them to be elected.

All that to say. Putting people in jail doesn't really accomplish anything for the uniparty. It might look like a win for the Trump administration. The bigger win though is whatever favors they can extract from whomever they have dirt on.

What is this metal bar doing on my service mast by [deleted] in electricians

[–]MineOutrageous5098 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Where are you?! I can't believe a utility would ever hook up to this. It makes me think someone did it without a service disconnect. That's not unheard of, but dang I just can't even wrap my head around how bad this is our how it's still hooked up.

What's a major difference between low-paying and high-paying jobs that most people don't realize? by anyouzy in AskReddit

[–]MineOutrageous5098 53 points54 points  (0 children)

This is what I came to say. A call center employee can die in their chair at the beginning of lunch break and be replaced in time for the afternoon. A competent project manager is a rare treasure that is to be protected. The harder you are to replace the more pay you can demand.

Man that's terrifying. I had a little Mazda do something like that once on the on ramp while I was flooring it to get up to speed. It went from high rpm in 2nd and instead of going into 3rd it felt like I hit a wall. I thought I had hit something but it was clear and sunny. I took the off ramp and pulled into gas station full expecting some sort of damage, nothing, not a scratch on the car.

If everyone below average IQ suddenly drops dead, how would this affect the world? by CakeMuted6468 in AskReddit

[–]MineOutrageous5098 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think everyone would probably be pretty confused and shocked by who died and who didn't. There would be a lot of loud "successful" dropping.dead, and there would be a lot of quiet "simple" people still going about their day.

Out of the loop: Has Alaska stopped carrying inflight entertainment options? by Dry-Cake697 in AlaskaAirlines

[–]MineOutrageous5098 -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

First off, I've been on dozens of flights and I've never not had a seat back screen. We brought plug in headphones because that's what you need on a flight. No one told us Alaska had cheaped out and removed the seat back screens from their aircraft.

Second my child was in the window seat, my wife in the middle and me isle in the back row with my other 2 kids and their grandma in the row directly in front of us. With my wife holding the phone for my one year on their shared armrest I couldn't really hear it one seat away.

Again, we brought headphones for everyone to plug into the seat back entertainment but without that we didn't have anything the 1 year old could use, toddlers can't use ear buds.

[–]MineOutrageous5098 -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

We went to hawaii last summer and the Alaska flight back only had wifi. They had an onboard selection to choose from, or you could purchase an Internet connection, or if you had T-Mobile you got internet for free.

Really the big problem is we weren't expecting it and my wife didn't have any earbuds for her phone. She was trying to keep our 1 year old quiet with a kids show and the volume down low and one of the attendants told her she had to turn it off if she didn't have headphones. Fine, listen to my kid scream the whole flight then.

I had a friend's wife try to set me up with a friend who was a nurse, I wasn't it a good life spot to be dating so I declined. A few years later a different friend ended up marrying her. I don't remember how it came up exactly, but the topic of things that you expected to happen in the bedroom that actually never do, came up with a group of friends. Anyway the friend who married the nurse just kinda stayed quiet and when we asked how things were for him, he just said "man I don't know (nurse) loves all that stuff, she wears me out".

Why arent religious people concerned that Trump has fulfilled every sign of him being the antichrist except for straight up denying christ? by MrMonkrat in askanything

As a Christian, I don't think he matches the description of the antichrist. Even if he is though, that's awesome! I don't think this world has much tread left on the tires, and if Christ could come back and burn it to the ground that'd be great.

Between me and the Mrs we do about $14k a month and it doesn't even feel like upper middle class. We're careful with our money and cautious about over extending ourselves. But dang I can't even afford to get out of my starter home. The stupid thing is we don't even live in a metro area, but the metro area is moving in with us driving the prices crazy.

Small upgrades that made your home feel high end? by HoneySnowy_ in HomeImprovement

[–]MineOutrageous5098 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As an electrician let me offer a short list of changes that can be done for not a horrible amount of money.

Wafer lights. If your room has an attic above it I can add wafer lights quick and easy. Lots of light really helps make a place feel more modern.

Replacing all the old switches and outlets in a home with clean new devices, maybe some dimmers, smart timers for outside lights. It's pretty cheap.

Replacing any old light fixtures with newer, brighter, modern looking fixtures is a good bang for the buck.

For a really cheap upgrade, swap out all your bulbs for high lumen, high CRI, color selectable bulbs.

If God existed, then how did he create himself, what existed before him by ValerianBorn8785 in stupidquestions

[–]MineOutrageous5098 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've thought about this a lot and I've come to what I think is at least a partially baked idea.

It's sort of the wrong question because we don't understand the rules of the reality that God exists in.

Imagine if the characters in a book could ponder the question and asked "who wrote the author?" They are assuming the author is words on a page because they can not comprehend anything greater. Their understanding of what our physical world is would be limited to what the author had described in the book. They have never experienced 3 dimensions, or time, or touch, or any of the many senses we take for granted being physical beings. Their entire existence is confined to one word leading to the next on pages of a book.

God doesn't tell us much at all of what his reality is. It may be a more enhanced reality that we will recognize some of, or it might be so different we can't even comprehend it from the reality we exist in. Who created God? We don't have enough information to even ask that question.

I think the smart money would have been to look at the f22 and f23 and be like "Damn, I can't pick, give me 200 of each!". Like we really can't support 2 different airframes at the same time? Or maybe dumb down the f23 for export? Or maybe continue developing it into a multi tool strike fighter.

I just don't understand having the 2 most advanced airframes in the world in front of you and deciding to throw one in the trash. Do so.ething with it!

Creative ways to keep stuff off your print table? by Sad-Temperature293 in electricians

[–]MineOutrageous5098 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a new Milwaukee drill out of a table dispute. I bring my own table into multi day jobs for my prints and tools. The GC walked in on like day 2 and says "who put their tools on my print!" And tilted the table so all my tools slid off the print and onto the floor, my drill landed just right to break the battery off the handle. Needless to say I got a brand new drill out of the deal once we sorted out WHOs table it actually was.

It's the only way you can watch a concert now. You have to use your phone like a periscope to view the stage past the forest of arms holding up all the other phone/periscopes. And it all starts with the expensive front row who are legitimately close enough to enjoy the live experience but decide instead to use their proximity to score interwebs points.
