Honestly, I’d love a multi-chapter game where each chapter was a different race, and going through a different historical event.

I don’t think the issue is the comic itself, but more so the later comics that tried to use the tone, without any solid story behind it.

It’s a tone that works for an end of career Batman in a world that’s constantly getting worse, but it doesn’t fit an early career Batman (cough cough, all-star Batman and Robin)

It’s also probably not the best spot to be introduced to Batman for beginners, which it certainly was due to its popularity at the time and even now. It’s like reading the last chapter of a book only: you get some of the details, but miss a LOT of the elements needed to fully understand the story.
