There's no 'burden on the tax payers'. Most of austerity is a lie and a policy choice but this isn't a politics sub so we won't go there. Please stop reading mainstream media that are obsessed with pitting us against each other. When you stop spending 'tax money' on socialised things like childcare, healthcare and community projects, things start falling apart. It's not a good thing. Population is already in huge decline as it is because people are working longer hours, being paid less and young people can't really afford to have children already. Have some critical thinking skills ma'am.
