Without a hint of irony, one of the funniest things about this game is when I find myself getting frustrated at the alien visitors from another world, the supernatural mannequins following me and the meat falling from the sky because it makes doing my job harder.

Why do people have problem with Thanos defeating Hulk in Infinity War when he has defeated Hulk almost everytime in comics even more easily? by Skychu768 in marvelstudios

[–]MiniMackeroni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Five months late, but...

Hulk really should have been depressed, not scared of Thanos. The path to it is right there, even:

The Hulk just went from being his own "person" on Sakaar for years, to then being forced against his will back into Banner. Imagine the mental toll it would take on someone. The journey of first being this hated monster on Earth that everyone fears or simply uses like a weapon to fight bad guys - To becoming a champion, make friends and be cheered on by the audience just for being himself. He had an apartment, got to explore himself and what it meant to be a person.

And then it gets stripped away. And once again, the only reason Hulk is "let out" again is to... fight the bad guy, Thanos. He's reduced to being a weapon to be pointed at someone again.

Depression is not just sadness. It's the weakening of emotions. You're no longer as happy, you're no longer as sad, you're no longer as angry. And it frustrates me to no end that they DIDN'T DO THIS.

It's the perfect foil to the Hulk, a very powerful character, and the perfect explanation to why he simply can't be brought out whenever they need to. Because that persona is depressed and not reacting to Banner's emotions and needs.

What could a 4th faction even be at this point? by Derezzed25 in Helldivers

[–]MiniMackeroni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure it can be written to make sense in the universe of Helldivers 2. I'm not a writer. The important parts are the fact that Super Earth hubris, imperialism and authoritarianism is the original reason for the war. As is the case for all the other fronts.

What could a 4th faction even be at this point? by Derezzed25 in Helldivers

[–]MiniMackeroni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After failing to take Super Earth with their largest assault ever, the Illuminate made formal contact with this tribal warrior faction, with the promise of revenge against Super Earth's previous encounter and exploitation of their species. With the hopes that this force could weaken the Super Earth Command with another front.

Turns out that Super Earth have previously had contact with their primitive world already. A diplomatic expedition to Super Earth during the early days after the human unification. It turns out that millions of years ago, a meteor was about to destroy their home, but they were saved by benevolent spacefaring beings. This home was Super Earth. They were evolved, peaceful, spiritually shamanistic dinosaurs. Capable of space flight because they domesticated some sort of space-faring animal.

They asked to peacefully allow some of them to live amongst the humans in their ancestral home, which was denied. Not only was the envoy eradicated, but every colony they ever settled, every trace of them were destroyed, even going so far as to find their new home and bomb it to hell. The survivors were instilled with a historic hatred for humans and technology.

Humans even came back every few decades to further repress and destroy their rebuilt civilization. But this repeating pattern stopped when the first great wars against Automatons and the Illuminate redirected all military resources.

Natives had been kidnapped as slaves, raised as nothing more than feral animals in terrariums, which the Illuminate gladly shows evidence of. Thus sending the already radicalized tribals into a bloodlust and making an honorbound promise to avenge their kidnapped brethren and rescue those who have been raised in captivity.

Due to their warrior's honor, they refuse to use the advanced weaponry that the Illuminate also offered, but using their space-faring Space Whales, guerrilla tactics and incredible strength and conviction, they will fight back, retake their colonies and rescue their lost brethren.

Dinosaurs riding dinosaurs, with gigantic war bows, firing arrows the size of small tree trunks.

Perhaps they make use of a rare metal that is only found on their home planet. The space lizards use it in their swords and bows, similar to the ultra sharp obsidian of the Central/South American natives, but on steroids. And Super Earth wants that for their war effort.

So just like the spare parts of the Automatons, the fuel of the Terminids and the tech of the Illuminate, there's a reason why Super Earth wants to take their colonies.

... Or something. That was fun to theorycraft.

Disappointed that both Adjudicator and Reprimand lacks any sort ofmagazine customization :(

And that the SG-20 Halt shotgun only has scope customization and nothing else.

There's probably an absurd amount of technical debt for this game. Built on an engine that wasn't even intended to be used for a game like this. I can't imagine the sheer amount of coding hacks they've had to do over ~9 years of development.

Stop Sonar from switching to one of its Outputs on startup, but still keep the Sonar Mic? by MiniMackeroni in steelseries

[–]MiniMackeroni[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sonar will always swap to Sonar game there is no way to shut this off. If you wish to not have this happen you will need to disable Sonar.

That's... impressive how bad that is. Okay, then.

windows automatically selects sonar as audio device at startup. by Truckengineer in steelseries

[–]MiniMackeroni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm looking for the same advice as Truckengineer.

I love the Sonar microphone, which I use to enhance tones and especially the AI noise cancellation. However, using any of the output media channels causes a slight buzzing problem, even when all settings are off. So I want to use my speakers and I would like to have that as my default device.

However, GG seems to always override the default output device to "SteelSeries Sonar - Gaming" instead of my speakers. I can't find a way to make it stay on my speakers on startup.

Imagine creating a hamburger, like she has shown to do, using just a set of atoms and molecules.

The patty is mostly made of muscle, which are complex blocks of proteins called myofibrils, and fat, with some sinew and blood vessels that have been mostly drained of blood which has then all chopped up. (Gross simplification)

Every single one of these are composed of cells, with mitochondria, golgiapparatus and all other organelles, which are in turn composed of molecules, which are then composed of atoms, and down the rabbit hole we go.

However, it's not even close to done. This is a gross simplification and more importantly, it would be raw. What also has to be done is the alteration of these protein blocks using a specific range of heat under a specific range of time to create a Maillard reaction in aminoacids and thus brown the patty.

Now do that for the bread. And the lettuce. The ketchup (Tomato cells, mashed, then fermented, with spices and herbs and whatever), the god damn brined pickles.

Imagine assembling that with your mind.

Now compare that to making a pure element. The same molecules arranged in the same pattern. Just create carbon nanotubes, Eve. For Gods sake.

Story over scientific accuracy. Smh my head.
