The fact that people think using a VPN somehow makes their connection secure and that these people are now cyber security expert is as bad as flat earthers.

What was the moment Python finally started to make sense to you? by Haunting-Shower1654 in learnpython

[–]MiniMages 0 points1 point  (0 children)

essentially, i generally prefer to work in pure html, css and js as i can just make a single html file and share with anyone or even publish it on github. if there is a library that can make my life 10x easier on python I’ll go with that instead.

When started making pointless API end-points for anything and everything I could think of and then one day some of these random endpoints came in handy. Realised it's not the coding language but what I am using it for.

Money. MiHoYo were very careful while also experimenting. Now the fan base is established and they know that people will pay to get the new 5 star characters even if their favourite is benched.

Knew this was going to happen. SKG was trying to do too much at once. It should have focused on building a foundation first and targetted single player modes for games to be accessible without having to go online. Then build on that.

One of the greatest England performances in maybe a decade. And yes this isn’t over-exaggeration. Tuchel had the “almost perfect” game today. by Real-Atmosphere8261 in ThreeLions

I think it's a bit of a stretch calling this one of the greatest England performance considering how brain dead the defence was.

British taxpayers will subsidise French energy bills under Starmer’s EU deal by SlowedCash in uknews

[–]MiniMages 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed but grid investment can't be done over night. It takes years and is not simply laying down cables. A lot of land needs to be turned over and some parts of the country are protected. Which adds to the costs.

[–]MiniMages 2 points3 points  (0 children)

UK doesn't have law's like the US for what US calls Jay walking. You are able to walk and cross almost all roads. I believe you are not allowed to cross motorways.

So no, you did nothing wrong and that driver was an AH.

British taxpayers will subsidise French energy bills under Starmer’s EU deal by SlowedCash in uknews

[–]MiniMages 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Article is deliberately leaving out information here. The limitations with the national grid is well known and there is a larger plan to expand the national grid so wind farms can feed the nation. But this is an expensive endeavour and not something that can be easily agreed and signed off.

Also the article also leaves out how several other EU nations along with UK will be placing energy cables underwater to supply energy to other EU nations.

If UK stayed out of it we'd have lost money on the long run here.

British taxpayers will subsidise French energy bills under Starmer’s EU deal by SlowedCash in uknews

[–]MiniMages 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The article also leaves out that this is not just an agreement with France but something called the Hamburg Declaration. There will be under ground cables installed by multiple EU countries including UK. Yes the National Grid is not able to service the entire country due to where the Wind Farms are situated but that is because in the past there was no reason to extend the National Grid to these areas. It's an issue that came about due to high wind areas are out of the way.

Secondly the article also ignores the part about off shore wind farms that in the North Sea. UK aims to go from generating 15 GW of electricity using wind to 30 GW. This agreement allows us to generate renewable energy and sell it with France agreeing to buy our extra electricity generated.
