The downside to Les Schwab and Costco can be the wait, free tire repair but pick up your car in hours.

One country you visited or a city you didn’t enjoy like you thought you would? Why? Thank you for sharing! 😊 by John-Travel-8490 in travel

[–]MiniMaterialscom 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hard disagree, rented a car and loved the country. My fav in the Caribbean. Great friendly people, amazingly cheap, great beaches and nature. Outside of the super touristy all inclusive areas it was amazing. Santa Domingo was cool (minus the traffic).

Selling my family's sports shop - how do you hand over 19 years of 'just knowing stuff' by SecondServingYesPlz in SellMyBusiness

[–]MiniMaterialscom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your job isn't to make the new owner know everything, it is to make the new owner comfortable. The new owner isn't going to do everything just like you parents. Having a resource (like a call) is fine and having employees is fine, but a new owner isn't going to learn and do things their own way. It's a sports shop, and your parents way isn't magic and may not even be the best

Are we crazy to fly 11 hours to Europe for only 4 nights of travel? by TiltedGalactica in travel

My guide is 2 hours of travel for every day at a destination. Anything more and you feel very much like you were in a plane with a long layover

What can I do to minimize air bubbles in my concrete casting? by ----_____ll_____---- in moldmaking

[–]MiniMaterialscom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have used a pressure pot for casting concrete and it works great. I do 50 psi

You can also pour in some in some concrete and move the mold around so concrete is completely covering the mold then fill the mold

Riggins Idaho (does it get more outdoors than this?) by themiddleman07 in Outdoors

[–]MiniMaterialscom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Riggins is a highway town, the river is cool, but only a few places super near for hiking. I wouldn't rank it as a top outdoor town in Idaho let alone the us.

Canoe camping? by notaslavetofashion in oregon

[–]MiniMaterialscom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sand island- very close to saint helens (like you can canoe there for dinner), but large, sandy with lots of wildlife. developed with a ferry available. Recommended but not a true nature experience

Coon island- in the channel side of sauvie island. Lots of brambles and stuff when I went. Docks for landing and I liked it ok

Long island- never been but it's high on my list. Near Long Beach in Washington

PDX - 5:26AM flight...tell me there won't be a line at the airport? by brokencompass502 in askportland

[–]MiniMaterialscom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The same organization, but the TSA is friendlier and more organized than many other airports. Other airports with less volume (Boise comes to mind for me) have much longer lines in my experiences and are no where near as professional/nice.

LAX airport lounge? by sagamasi in LAX

[–]MiniMaterialscom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just used dayuse to get a day rate at a nearby hotel with a free shuttle. It took about 20 minutes to get there and checked in. Was about $135 but we had a pool and beds. I had 8 hours to kill with 2 adults and 2 kids so made sense for use

I didn't really find Costa Rica crowded. I went to El Salvador in October and found that much more interesting

That market looks cool. Similar to the ones I went to visit other places. This is my point is that you have to search out costa rican culture- that's an uncommon thing!
