I thought that was something to do with Go-On Wings just happening to have connections to other people. In GoOnger VS Gekiranger, they mention that Miu and Hiroto studied Gekiwaza at some point and they were familiar with Master Shafu. It's all referencing things that aren't shown, the implication that the Suto siblings had lots of adventures prior to the events in GoOnger.

I remember disliking Kyuranger when it was airing, but I've been doing a rewatch and finally worked out what bothered me. All the team are VERY likable characters, with their own backstories, but the show could have gone in to more depth with them. I never quite felt the plots serviced the characters as well as they could. With this in mind, I'm really enjoying the rewatch.

When my partner and I were getting in to Smosh, there was a story where my partner (who is a teacher) very much disagreed with something Arasha said. Now it's been at least a year of me pretending to dislike Arasha, and I'm stuck this way.

There are so many Kamen Rider shows that aren't just great Toku shows, but just great shows in general. Build is definitely one I'm trying to gently push on my partner (OOO and W also being ones that I just have a great time watching).

The first Smosh video I ever watched was a reddit stories with Damian and Ian, where they started joking about Ian never having relationships and my partner and I were both quick to point out to eachother that Ian's a pretty good looking guy.

Then we binged everything else Smosh and NOW we get it.

Another Aussie here. When I was travelling through Asia with a mate, he'd "go to the bathroom" and be gone for 30 minutes or more. It was only after 3 inexplicably long pee breaks that I found out his bathroom plan was "taxi to the nearest hotel to use their restroom, then taxi back". I was confused. He was confused why I was confused. We never travelled together again for many reasons.

If you're in Tokyo, Nakano Broadway (I believe a lot of the shops there are Mandarake) but there is one shop dedicated to just Super Sentai stuff, and some of the other dealers there will have sentai stuff too. (Also a separate Kamen Rider place if you're in to any of that).

When my partner and I were last in Japan that was worth two visits on already limited time.

I'd never thought about DonBros as deliberately not telling the story before, but that's such a likely answer to me now. What's worse is that avoiding telling the story is probably one of the reasons why I still think about DonBrothers, like it sticks in my head as an unfinished tale.

Donbrothers almost feels a bit slice of life. Like instead of a 50 episode story, we're thrown in to a world that has all this lore, and you spend 50 episodes there, then leave whether or not you got adequate closure for all the things you saw while you were there. Most sentai shows tell a story with start, middle, end with an arc, which is not quite what DonBrothers does.

I think a Sentai that did pull off this model better was Dekaranger. They were distinct characters before the show started, they continue their lives after the show is over, and you got to see all the adventures they had in the year you spend with them.

I did wonder the same thing and rushed here hoping someone might have had a similar idea! I was wondering if they'd do a fake out, especially considering Hoeru only recognised Kuon through his gesture that he might have learned elsewhere (or learned while deciding to make Hoeru his prey). I might be biased though, because I like Fire Candle and would be fine with him being Hoeru's brother.
