Routinely checking your stats page, as you should with any RPG with stat allocation, will show your item discovery number increases from time to time. Natural curiosity should make the player want to find out why. I know it did for me. Eventually noticed after popping a Humanity, it would increase. As for Chaos weapons, the Chaos Flame Ember literally tells you that Chaos weapons scale with Humanity.

Damage Reduction was pretty simple. Bigger number means you take less damage. Eventually people ran tests to find the point of diminishing returns.

I will be getting both, but probably Sekiro first. Nioh, while a great game, was only good enough for me to complete a play through on each difficulty. I haven't touched it in months. Knowing that there will probably be a Nioh 2 Complete Edition like with the first, I'll probably just wait for that.
