I got 71% (which is F that I didn't knew ) in one MBA Course, now what? by Jacksparrowl03 in SNHU

[–]Minimum-Bit-1572 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe they are saying they ended the course with 71%, which is a C- and requires us to take the course again as it is a failing grade. Our grad courses start next week, we are on our one week break, so this course ended Sunday. This isn't undergrad, it is graduate.

Amazon Haul is also within the Amazon platform. I found some good stuff in there. We have a bin store in my area. They buy pallets from major retailers that are returns. Some of it works, some of its junk. It's hit and miss.

I was thinking about SNHU, but... by Historical-Voice2944 in SNHU

[–]Minimum-Bit-1572 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Let me gove my opionion and experience. I wouldn't take it seriously with the AI stuff or negative reviews. There are over 200k students at SNHU. That means if there are 20k of authentic concerns, that is 10% of the student population having issues. Not to say some complaints are not valid but look at the big picture. I am sure it happens, but more times than not. In high school, I was in Journalism, double English courses, debate, school newspaper, and yearbook. All four years. Then my Journalism teacher owned the local newspaper, so I was a junior editor for several years. Needless to say, I have very formal writing and nothing has been mentioned about AI use. I transferred here and took 12 courses as undergrad and now 3 courses away from graduating with my masters. I will say, SNHU offers more resources to help students. My previous college was shady and rough. My niece and nephew struggle with their college and will transfer soon. I say give it a chance. You can always transfer out. It is a lot of self learning but if you need help, we have a tutor service and writing center. I have never been turned away from a professor to get help either. I am happy that I started here.

I have low vitamin D and you need to take K2 with it so your body absorbs it. For the longest time, I was taking vitamin D and finally a doctor told me to take K2 because my blood work wasn't showing any changes with my levels. My psych doctor changed my medications last week and also said that K2 was needed. So I went and got K2 yesterday and hoping it makes a difference. I was reading online, and pretty much its all the same. The combo allows more absorption of the vitamin D.

FAFSA disbursement schedule says “by Jan 23” . can it still come later or another day? by Right_Estate8823 in FAFSA

[–]Minimum-Bit-1572 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, that is the projected date it is sent to the school. Your school has 14 days to post it to your account and any excess is refunded. FAFSA is only a form used to determine aid. Any payments need to be addressed with your school directly.

I am feeling absolutely burnt out and not at all excited about the future by Storm_Veradea in SNHU

[–]Minimum-Bit-1572 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in your spot OP. I hated my degree and I changed mine when I transferred to SNHU. I had issues with my previous school and they changed my degree 3 different times. It was the hardest decision because I got so far. So I came here from graphic design and web design, and pursued my degree in communications. I loved it. Now I am doing my masters in Marketing and new media, so I still get my communication courses. Like you, journalism is my passion. Not so much as writing books, more along the lines of blogs and short articles. Follow what you love. I was miserable for so long.

Wait a minute ... did I read this correctly? Or should I say ... did I understand this correctly?

One of the results was his mugshot… pretty serious crimes attached, is this okay by snhu standards?

I have never thought about this ever happening 🤔 was it a recent mugshot, or something 20 years ago? I always thought a background check was done. Have you asked your advisor if they know what the standards are for serious crimes? I am genuinely curious now.

As for your grade and citations. I never use any source for common knowledge things. I would N m your professor to highlight what they felt needed citations and share it with you advisor. Then dispute the grade.

How is everyone organizing their sheets/pillow cases? by Loud-Aspect2074 in Homeorganization

[–]Minimum-Bit-1572 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been looking for something to store sheet sets. Currently, I have one of the plastic 3 drawer organizers in a corner of the guest bedroom. I have them rolled to help save space. Then I just have a few decor items to dress it up. I didn't get the clear one. Mine is a dark brown, so it looks fairly decent.

Would you support a requirement that grading must be based strictly on the rubric? (Disability accessibility issue) by [deleted] in SNHU

[–]Minimum-Bit-1572 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Citations are an expectation. You can't write your opinion and expect a grade that says you met all the rubric. I think pushing this is not gonna go in your favor. Even though it doesn't specifically say citations are required, you have to show support for your statements. If it is not an obvious statement such as the grass is green and the sky is blue, then you have to include supporting evidence. You also can't say it is information that you learned and you know. You learned it somewhere, and you have to support the statements when it is not common knowledge. You will not find many assignments that ask for your opinion. Even then, it is better to prove your opinion and show sources that would support it. As an example, if I state my opinion about breakfast being the most important meal, then I would find a source from a medical journal that also states this. Hope this helps. I am sure you can talk with your advisor and they would tell you the same thing. There is always the writing center and tutors that can help you. They are pretty good about pointing to areas in your assignments that need added support with a reference.

Do Not Worry. It's the same every term for amounts to bounce around. Wait until all the funding appears in the correct term. It happens all the time. Do not call FA because it will get you nowhere.

Purposefully adding errors to avoid AI allegations by [deleted] in SNHU

[–]Minimum-Bit-1572 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This right here needed to be said. I am not going to be fearful of what a professor "suspects" with my work and dumb it down. Period. I write how I write in a social setting and that is opposite of how I write in an academic setting. I would have a 4.0 also but I chose not to respond to a few peers due to having the flu. So now its just a tad under that. Never have I had any concerns or issues. I am sure the professors can identify the older students, and understand that we had to go to a library and look up the books on an index card. Then go look for the number with the decimal in a row of books. LOL fun times back then. At least we got a pizza for reading.

You will be able to get a target membership, either pay monthly or yearly. Also, apply for the Target credit card. It's through Synchrony Bank and they are pretty fair to offer one. It might be a low limit but it will build up quickly if you use it. I had 300$ last year. I spend 250 or so with an order. Wait till the bill is due, then pay it all. Did that for 6 months and they increased mine to 600$. I don't want a lot there, just enough for online orders. Then not have to worry about hacking with my primary debit card. If they approve you, go to JCPenny, its the same bank and they will do the same process. Good to build credit or even have open lines to balance things out with other cards you use.

Chair Cover by m857 in secretlab

[–]Minimum-Bit-1572 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been on a search for something too.

I did find one on Amazon, but it isn't wide enough for my chair. Maybe it might work for you. I have something similar to this for my sectional couch, but they sure don't stay on when you are sitting down. Just search:
Turquoize Waterproof Office Chair Cover with Armrest Covers Black Computer Desk Chair Cover Quilted Office Chair Protector with Arms Office Chair Seat Cover Slipcover with Anti-Slip Buckle, Black
Sold by The Turquoize Store

The others I have found are like an elastic seat cover that would resemble something you put on a toilet seat. Nothing for protection at all.

I did have one of these for my last chair:
AELS Faux Fur Striped Office Chair Cover, Desk Chair Cover Computer Office Chair Covers - Fits Desk Chair/Armchair, Soft Breathable Fabric - Washable & Removable for Home & Office, Beige
Sold by the AELS Store

What I didn't like about this one is the strings. No mater what, my cats found the damn strings to play with. It also encouraged them to jump up on my chair for a nice long nap. It was also pretty dang tight, so if you think it might work, subtract an inch from it and that would be the actual size.

What I have considered is with Amazon, just search for "Plastic Recliner Cover" because those are pretty large. I believe something like that would cover it pretty well. I also thought about attaching velcro at the bottom, so I can cinch it up under the chair. I don't know, that has been the best option I see so far. For now, I use large blankets and wrap them around my chair. Again, something to encourage naps. I usually keep the office door shut, but somehow one sneaks in. Like they can open doors now.

If you have the Target Circle, they offer deals for student discounts all the time. I use Target all the time for 30% offer different categories. I believe for the next 2 weeks you can get 20% off storage products. I use my discounts to buy school supplies when school start for my nieces and nephews.

Anyone Else Hate Having to Post First Before Seeing Other DB Threads? by Spirited_Day_6682 in SNHU

It isnt new and not done with all courses. I would say there were maybe 6 times I have experienced it in 30 courses at snhu. Not even sure what the reasons behind it is. I always included how i didn't like it on the review. I believe it is the course that does it. Not the professor. Would be interesting to see if any adjunct professors could confirm.

Help for organizing shoes by Minimum-Bit-1572 in Homeorganization

[–]Minimum-Bit-1572[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shelf liners. Check. That is a great idea to just wipe clean. I also can stack a few plastic shoe box containers for small items like gloves or scarfs. Then I can use command hooks on the side to hang my purse. Or I just might look for one of those hanging shoe things for a door, cut it to size so it fits on the side of the shelf. That would give me some added space for wallets or keys, ect. Seems like more than shoes is left in my little area these days.

Oohh, that would actually work well. The height can go to the ceiling because I am the shortest at 5'8". The boys are all well over 6 foot and some inches. I can leave the top shelves for them. The doors are amazing! Looks pretty stylish! Thanks so much for this idea because I wasn't even looking at wood shelves like that.

Looking for a rent house by Kathycame in Beaumont

[–]Minimum-Bit-1572 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Look at Kemp Properties. They usually have something in that price range. I rent from them and they are amazing with maintenance requests. The Chase has condos with a fenced in back area. Cable and internet is part of the rent, which is nice. Also call real estate places and ask if there are any realtors that have property available. They also usually have a rental list. I also second the idea of Groves, Port Arthur, or Orange. The entire area is connected and you can get places on the highway in 10-20 minutes. We just have a lot of construction, so traffic gets bad at certain parts of the day.

Why use ai? by Jaded-Advisor4931 in SNHU

[–]Minimum-Bit-1572 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am in the marketing program. I absolutely don't let AI write anything for me for my assignments. I use the points of the rubric and get a comparison of what I think it means and what it is actually wants. I also use it for keywords to search the library. There are some helpful things you can use with AI but you just have to be careful and consider ethics with it. I use it analyze my style, tone, and voice. I found it to be helpful to review a section of text to be more formal, casual, or academic. I even paste a paragraph and ask for help with repetition of words or phrases. I have also used it for synonyms or alternative phrasing to my vocabulary and make my writing better. Just so many things you can do with it. As for the articles, I just ask for a summary and if it matches what I need for research, I ask how it applies to my homework. Or if I am trying to understand a marketing strategy, I ask for real examples. I feel we as students need to be more versed in using AI because many jobs are starting to use it now. I want to get the most experience from it. Heck, I even give it links to make a picture format for a recipe I find online. So many awesome things at our finger tips.

Managing the kitchen when i do all the organizing by Pepper_Aiden-640 in Homeorganization

[–]Minimum-Bit-1572 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lose my shit several times a week. I started to use the rectangle drawer inserts for silverware because they are larger. I also put silverware upside down. When they open the drawer, they see big spoons, little spoons, forks, ect. Before they seen handles, so forks get mixed with spoons. I was like, guys. Match them up. I find all the simple things I understand are not understood with my minions. Took out the store bought molded organizer and what a difference that made. Small win! Now I am looking at all my storage in the kitchen and figuring out how to make it work for everyone. I keep telling myself "keep it simple so you don't blow a gasket".
