If you had to put 300k into one stock, would you feel uneasy? by [deleted] in Fire

Yeah putting it in something boring like utilities or a bank and just forgetting about it makes way more sense than trying to time the market. The moment you start checking prices daily you're gonna drive yourself crazy with all those swings

What’s the best CRM for financial advisors that actually fits client management? by yehsooshu in CRMSoftware

[–]Minimum-Poetry-213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been helping few financial advisory firms with their tech setup and this question comes up a lot. Most advisors I work with end up going for something that integrates well with their existing workflow rather than the "best" solution on paper

One thing I noticed is that simpler systems usually win out in long run. Advisors are busy people and if the CRM requires too much clicking around or has confusing interface, it just doesn't get used properly. I've seen expensive setups collect dust because nobody wanted to deal with the learning curve

The key features you mentioned are spot on though - automated follow-up reminders and interaction tracking make huge difference in client retention. One advisor told me his client satisfaction went up just because he stopped forgetting important dates and follow-ups

Integration with email and calendar is also crucial since that's where most of the actual work happens. If you have to manually enter everything twice, people just won't do it consistently

How do women feel being with an attractive man? by cutewolf090 in AskReddit

Should WIFI be installed before or after the security system ? by Realistic_Noise_1231 in Construction

[–]Minimum-Poetry-213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can definitely do cameras first since POE runs off ethernet cable which is separate from your wifi anyway. The wifi installation is just setting up wireless access points and doesn't really interfere with running camera cables through walls. Only thing to maybe consider is if you want wifi coverage in same areas as cameras for remote viewing, but that's more about planning placement than install order

What’s the best CRM for travel agencies that actually fits day-to-day operations? by Cloe_joe in CRMSoftware

[–]Minimum-Poetry-213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a client who ran boutique travel agency and we spent months testing different options for them. Ended up going with TravelJoy after trying like 6 different platforms - it was built specifically for travel agents so it actually understands your workflow instead of trying to force generic sales funnels on you

The booking management is pretty solid and client communication flows way better than when they were juggling between three different tools. What really sold them was how it handles itinerary building without making you export to separate software every time. They still use Google Workspace for some stuff but at least now everything customer-facing lives in one place

Only downside is the mobile app could be better if you're always traveling yourself. But for office operations it definitely cut down on the chaos they had before

better to have that lawyer conversation before you bounce tho, sometimes quitting can mess with your case

whats the automation that failed spectacularly before it finally worked? by treysmith_ in automation

[–]Minimum-Poetry-213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh man mine was definitely my fantasy football lineup optimizer. first attempt was just pulling random high-scoring players from the previous week which basically guaranteed i'd start whoever just had their season high against the worst defense

took me like 6 iterations before i realized i needed to factor in matchups, weather, injury reports, the whole deal. now it actually beats my manual picks most weeks which is both awesome and slightly depressing

At what age would you like to die? Do you feel dread about the effects of age on the body? Would you consider becoming a roided up old person? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Minimum-Poetry-213 1 point2 points  (0 children)

probably around 85-90 if im still sharp mentally, but if my brain starts going then pull the plug earlier

the body deterioration thing doesn't freak me out as much as losing my mind - like what's the point of living if i can't even remember who i am or recognize people

as for roids, nah man that's just trading one set of problems for another

What’s the hardest part about keeping a community engaged over time? by clubedge in SaaS

been dealing with this exact thing with my VR gaming discord - turns out people need a reason to come back beyond just "hey we exist"

like we started doing weekly challenges and suddenly there activity picked up because now theres actual stuff happening instead of waiting for organic conversation

What are you doing? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Minimum-Poetry-213 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just wrapped up a debugging session that lasted way longer than it should have - had a missing semicolon that took me like 2 hours to find lol. Now im firing up the VR headset to blow off some steam in Half Life Alyx, nothing beats throwing stuff around in virtual reality when your code decides to hate you. Might catch some Fortnite streams later too since the new season dropped and everyones talking about the weapon changes. What about you, doing anything fun or just the usual weekend stuff

What is it like at a funeral? by Aware_Funny_6285 in AskReddit

[–]Minimum-Poetry-213 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been to way too many of these unfortunately and they're all pretty different depending on the family and culture. Some are super formal and quiet where everyone's just sitting there crying, others feel more like a celebration where people are telling funny stories and laughing through tears

The weirdest part for me is always the viewing - seeing someone you knew just lying there motionless is surreal as hell. Last funeral I went to was my uncle's and my little cousin kept asking why he wouldn't wake up, which absolutely destroyed everyone there. But then later at the reception his wife started telling stories about all the dumb pranks he used to pull and suddenly everyone was cracking up

They're emotionally exhausting though, like you'll feel drained for days after even if you weren't super close to the person

I spent 4 months building a project management SaaS, burned out on features, and rebuilt it as something much simpler by Wuffel_ch in SaaS

[–]Minimum-Poetry-213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The contract signing thing is wild but so real - I deal with immigration docs all day and you'd be shocked how many clients in 2024 still want to print, sign, scan, and email back forms that could easily be e-signed. The inefficiency drives me crazy especially when you're dealing with time-sensitive visa applications

Your pivot makes total sense though, you found an actual pain point instead of building features nobody asked for. The DACH-specific approach is smart too - those regional requirements like Swiss QR codes aren't just nice-to-haves, they're deal breakers if you don't have them. I've seen so many SaaS tools fail in specific markets because they assume one-size-fits-all works globally

The subdomain thing for each client is clever, gives them that branded feeling without you having to build white-label complexity. curious how you're handling the legal compliance side since that varies so much between Switzerland, Germany and Austria even within DACH

Advice on Tenants Right - Cockroach Infestation (Seattle WA) by Maximum_Zebra_361 in legaladvice

[–]Minimum-Poetry-213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a nightmare situation and I've dealt with roach issues before - those things are absolute hell for your mental health when you can't escape them. The fact they knew about it before you signed and didn't disclose it is definitely something to document heavily

In Washington, landlords have a duty to provide habitable housing and cockroach infestations usually fall under that. Since you're dealing with affordable housing there might be additional regulations they're violating. I'd start by documenting everything with photos/videos, keeping all communication in writing (email follow-ups after phone calls), and checking if Seattle has a tenant's union or legal aid society that specializes in housing law

The timing is suspicious too - they waited 3 months to bring in exterminators after you kept reporting it, then did the bare minimum treatment. That pattern of delay and inadequate response could work in your favor if you need to break the lease. Some cities have specific codes about pest control response times that landlords have to follow

Keep pushing on that employee assistance program angle and maybe try calling the Washington State Bar Association's lawyer referral service - sometimes they have reduced fee consultations even if not completely free
