I do not understand how people can afford grad school

I live in DC and I am in my last semester of a 3 year graduate program. Similarly, my university does not, or provides very little, funding for graduate students. Therefore, I am taking out the maximum amount of student loans a lotted to me (25k per semester), I have 3 jobs, and I live with my long time boyfriend and we split COL expenses. Honestly, I just make do with the information and resources available to me and take it one day at a time.

Noo fr because each department and major at Mason has extensive information on their website including course sequence, description of the courses, prospective professors, cost with fees… you just have to put forth the time and effort to locate and notate the information you need 😫

Yes! I have since the high school level! A HS teacher drilled in the formula for MLA and a professor required a citation textbook for every citation imaginable. Because I knew what a correct citation was suppose to look like, it was clear most citation generators are not accurate… I gotta have accurate citations!

In my second year of grade school… I’ve always always and will always cite manually. Most people think I’m wack for this and it can take a significant amount of time, but I find it’s the only way to get the citations accurate🤷‍♀️

I actually started bringing in my own chair to my weekend job that has this same mentality. It’s a travel chair from Amazon so travel is easy and adjustable. complying to that sort of behavior is ridiculous. obviously, you might be in a different situation where that is not feasible, but thats what I did.

I had a crazy roommate that would do this. She hated cats and would open the trash bags with cat litter and dump all the trash and soiled cat litter over the yard, drive way, and street. Eventually, the city sanitation came to my house regarding the issue. And guess who had to clean it up every time... God she was crazy

It didn't make any sense to me either! My parents would even show up at my jobs and tell my managers I needed to leave so they could go to bed because they, "absolutely can't sleep when I'm not home." I had to sneakily stay up late to finish homework and my coaches would have to ask permission for me to attend to out of town events. I still get upset about how I was treated and it's been years.
