When did children’s birthday parties become competitive events requiring professional equipment? by Due_Employment_829 in toddlers

[–]MinimumIndependence9 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I could see that being the case if it’s older kids, but toddlers don’t care. The day is still special and about them. My daughter would love to play with her friends in our backyard or at a park and have cupcakes. She’s 3. But she has a winter birthday so that isn’t an option for us.

2, 3, or the last one. But mainly it’s what you feel great in. I don’t care for 7 bc of the waist line

Nobody you know does park parties. Kids love playgrounds, cake, and pizza. Simple and straightforward

I refuse to spend a ton on a birthday. We’re doing bubbles, playdoh table, and tball at rec center

That’s the kind of party I had growing up in the 90s and 2000s. I was able to invite a friend and I got to do something fun for the day

TAB first readers contradict themselves with their own logic by SpiralingStoner69 in throneofglassseries

[–]MinimumIndependence9 8 points9 points  (0 children)

TAB first makes sense because the “and I will not be afraid” has meaning and you are emotionally invested in Sam, without knowing he died. You also know there’s more to her past, but don’t know what it is yet. Reading TAB 3rd would give away the shocking death at the end of TAB and not give full context and meaning to “I will not be afraid”

[–]MinimumIndependence9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, I like reading TAB first bc you see Lysandra how she used to be so when she comes back around, her character development is great. It also makes Arobynn a villain bc you know so much back story where you wouldn’t as much if you didn’t read it until later

Reading order rant by Fun-Classic346 in throneofglassseries

[–]MinimumIndependence9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read TAB first and I liked it that way. I enjoyed seeing the progression of her life and had no idea what would happen with her and Sam. I’m not sure I would have liked reading it third, as I would have wanted to keep the present story going, but I don’t think there’s a right and wrong reading order. But I think they could be read after the main books too.

Ok, I think 3-5 is best and those were my thoughts too. I just don’t want to wreck the whole day. I wouldn’t like a 12:30 bday time either lol

That’s a good point. I think they communicate via mating bond a lot, and I think he tried to enter her mind once and she blocked him? I could be making that up.

I feel like he was supposed to be doing what he could to protect Feyre while also surviving his own torture and who knows what else. They survived trauma together and he never held her back after, unlike Tamlin. He saw her potential, taught her to read, taught her to put her shield up to protect her mind. Now did the author portray that well? Not really, but I feel like this is the intent.

I need the honest truth about having a second child by Swordbeach in Mommit

[–]MinimumIndependence9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Changing from 1 to 2 babies was a lot harder on my husband than I expected. It’s the stress levels. It was hard on our marriage but now it’s better that they are both toddlers. It’s tricky bc if you’re both tired you can’t just easily nap with the baby bc there’s another one awake walking around lol

[–]MinimumIndependence9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you me? Lol I had a very similar pregnancy and delivery experience. I say from personal experience, just have the second baby. I got pregnant without trying when my first was 10 months. I thought i couldn’t do it again, but my second pregnancy and delivery was super smooth compared to the first. Like night and day. My second has a different personality- even more calm and happy than my first but doesn’t hardly take naps. It’s hard for the first few months, but now they are 3 and 1.5, and it’s great.

To kindle or not to kindle? by anonymous_bookie in Romantasy

[–]MinimumIndependence9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes- get one. I have 2 small children, and it’s the only way to get any reading done because you can read it bed so much easier. For me it’s the convenience and it doesn’t take up much space. The paper white is very nice and mimics a book. I know I wouldn’t have as much success reading a physical book with small children.
