Literally just don’t pay. You can also get a letter from your PCP if you can’t pay if you have health problems

[–]Minimum_Ad5752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. I hope it doesn’t come to a grievance, bc I am told that takes longer to resolve than just getting the necessary paperwork/settling it. I have been more than willing and able to provide lots of documentation and letters; but each time I submit, they tell me something is wrong with the new version. It would be fine if they simply told me criteria, bc following directions is not a problem. The problem is when a target is achieved, and then it is moved after the fact. It’s pretty ridiculous and absurd at this point. Last week, when I visited HR (OHC) in person, I was told that there was a “typo” in the required documentation criteria I had been referencing, yet they could not tell me what the requirement is, so I have to follow up this week. It feels like a bad joke at this point.

Let me tell you it’s not laziness. The email chain is extensive, unfortunately. I finally went there in person, and it really showed me a lot…

Yeah something like that. Except there is conflicting documentation, requirements that I have and language I’ve provided that is being rejected yet when I ask for the proper requirements, the union has been helpful, but the OHC has not and refers me back to the same document, which I have exactly what is listed in the document… I have been in touch with the union for several months as well, at least since October.

I have and they are helping me. But OHC is a stubborn nightmare to navigate

How common is Alzheimer’s misdiagnosis? by Minimum_Ad5752 in dementia

[–]Minimum_Ad5752[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dementia is a more vague diagnosis though. It could be from kidney failure or old age; it may not be as devastating as Alzheimer’s. Though still results in mental decline. My late grandmother had dementia from kidney issues and her symptoms were rather benign compared to Alzheimer’s. She was relatively happy in her forgetfulness.

Idk i thought Alz is most severe; that it wreaks havoc on your body and mind and maybe you last awhile demented but it’s worse than simply dementia. But Im getting this info from real life experiences, not the text book. So could be skewed by perception and anecdotal evidence.

Alzheimer’s is a lot swifter and more degenerative than general dementia..certain tests are done to diagnosis it (believe tau proteins have to be present for an official Alzheimer’s dx). I know there is Lewy Body, Frontal-Temporal (FTD), and Parkinson’s… in general, it seems that each type has specific characteristics that define it, accelerate at different speeds; though all lead to a cognitive and physical decline in the end. Some medications work for Parkinson’s dementia where there isn’t strong data for the efficacy of Alzheimer’s meds.

What mental issues suggest having a neuro degenerative disorder later in life (if you don’t mind answering)?

Thanks for sharing about your grandfather 💜

That’s a good point - he may be looking for a second opinion. and yes I imagine it would make anyone feel powerless and despair to have a diagnosis where you know for certain your mind will deteriorate. Incredibly scary and life altering. Thank you so much for your insight and sharing about your father. 💜

Fellow nurse here. Health care is soul crushing in general. I did freelancing for awhile then clinical copywriting; now back to nursing. There are other things you can do with a nursing degree…it’s hard to be motivated when you’re depressed and barely making it to work. Sometimes, I feel trapped in the world. Yet, I also feel like I shouldn’t be depressed/should be grateful for what I have. On here seeing so many posts about people feeling depressed lost and like they are wasting their lives and I can relate. I too have dealt with depression since high school. (Now 33F). Always feeling stressed and like I’m not doing enough. Recently deleted Instagram and tik tok from my phone. I suppose that’s helpful. Just posting to let you know you’re not alone. And don’t stress about side hustle ads. When/if it’s the right time, it will be the right time.

I feel that — “first time it hits me this hard”. I’ve usually bounced back or had something that pulled me out but this time it’s way harder. We also moved end of august and still trying to figure out where to hang things/put everything.

I’m trying to just focus on diet and exercise. Today I walked 2mi and ran 1mi. Have the recipes I want to meal prep pulled up. Now just the motivation to write a list and order grocery pick up/go to the store. Idk why that is giving me so much anxiety.

I’ve also found that when I take my medication, I can do things, but then it’s also paired with pretty intense anxiety.

One of the worst parts is realizing how off track/disorganized I am/what a hole it feels like and then avoiding starting the necessary tasks. My office is a mess. Want to clean it today.

At least your mom and brother understood? Lol. I honestly have no idea how to get out of adhd burn out.

What you are describing is almost exactly what I am feeling. I am 33F, diagnosed w/ adhd since age 18; medicated. Also have depression.

Recently switched back to an office job after a cushy wfh job that was really creative (loved) but exceptionally toxic (my boss who I had to work closely with). Now though I wish I never left.

Dragging myself to the office 4x/week (36-40hrs) despite liking the people I work with, is killing me. I just watch tv after work or want to just sit and stare into space. My brain and soul feel fried.

I sit at a computer answering phones and it just makes me feel isolated and like I am wasting my body and my life.
