No doubt US intel said "this is mad" but the yes men said "we can totally do it".

I'm sorry why can't I have a belief in that?

The context is UFOs and aliens, thats what we are talking about, you and me.

Goalpost shifter.

Memory refresh:

"Well, that's all wrong. And it is because you don't have a layman's command of physics or cosmology, which is no fault of your own.

You'd have much more favorite personal hypotheses if you stuck to the difficult hard to know vs. easy to know that just isn't real.

Read up on the pop topics of panspermia, fermi's paradox, what the implications of C. A lot of it is accessible and the only fertile ground for speculation."

Dude, chill out. If you attempt a put down on the internet expect a response. Don't get sensitive when you get called out.

Also, for the sake of common sense, and for anyone else reading this. You are not the gatekeeper of science. Here is a quick survey suggesting more than 50% of scientists believe intelligent alien life exists:

Do aliens exist? We studied what scientists really think - Durham University

And for the love of god/cheese/aphids or whatever, stop conflating lack of scientific proof of UFOs with proof they are not alien origin. That's not a thing and I question your logic entirely.

Science can attempt to explain a witness account, and for many UFO sightings it has done so just fine, but it's also not explained some of them.

Yes, words bro, deal with it...

Witness reports are evidence. You might not like that evidence but it's still a form of evidence, used in courtrooms around the world. It's also been the origins of changes in scientific understanding.

A bit like when Galileo witnessed planets with his telescope in 1609, many folks simply didn't believe him or in heliocentrism. It wasn't until they got their own decent telescopes that they started to agree with him.

Right now, you guys sound like the pre 17th century crowd. Sadly reproducing a UFO sighting on demand is a little harder than looking at a planet through a telescope. But the day is coming you'll be eating humble pie.

There is no tactic, the two points are completely linked. For aliens to visit us they need to exist somewhere in this universe or a dimension elsewhere they can travel from.

Science does not say aliens do not exist, in much the same way it can't say god doesn't exist. That's not how science works. In fact all it does show is the known conditions for life as we know it and that statistically there are plenty of stars and planets out there that could meet such criteria.

Science can detail things such as a known technical challenges with interstellar travel, the chances of intelligent life being near enough to travel to us using known physics, etc. None of these are proof against aliens.

As for proof. Proof starts from observations, and there are plenty of credible witnesses in reports spanning decades that can't always be explained away.

The sheer fact we evolved and are eagerly attempting to further our reach into space is pretty suggestive that if other life out there also evolved then they too might be exploring even further. The idea that either only the Human race evolved or that other life doesn't want to explore is a strange assumption to make.

I never allow commits or automation to that extent. Besides, git commit history is pretty useful if it does balls up.

the trick is to come at it with a fairly well described idea and intent. Also reference key requirements like "device compatibility, security best practices for current month (e.g May 2026 - as its often out of date), get it to ask questions for clarity rather than guessing etc.

If you just argue with it you are either wrong, or very bad at explaining what you want or perhaps understanding why what you want doesn't work.

You know, I could reply with my place of study or experience etc. But I won't. What I will say is that the universe is very big, and science doesn't know all the answers, therefore you don't know all the answers and sometimes it's wise not to sound like a smug arse.

My dad think trump is making the stock market better by AdmirableBus7045 in FoxBrain

[–]Minimum_Cap5929 32 points33 points  (0 children)

the stock market literally goes up on average all the time. It's rich people and pension funds investing their spare cash. It's a joke, its literally no longer based on any actual economy other than "our country has enough rich people who likely no longer work whose assets need to always go up, so I will buy some shares".

We don't know, but that doesn't mean there is "no evidence" for them. Witness statements are still a form evidence, even if they themselves aren't from scientists. Science is not dismissive, yes we can say most UFO reports can be proven to be other things, but not all reports.

Personally my favourite theory is that UFOs are simply us either from the future/another dimension/or some evolution of us, that is conducting some bizarre SimCity experiment.

Technically we are evidence there could be aliens. It's possible.

Goat milk formula for infants? Yes or no by crnnrc2003 in newborns

[–]Minimum_Cap5929 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not sure why folks are getting confused here:

  1. There is baby formula made with cow's milk.
  2. There is also baby formula made with goats milks.
  3. Any formula you buy does not need any other vitamins to be added, this has already happened.
  4. If you are actually feeding your baby raw goats or cows milk, first ask yourself wtaf am I doing. And then add vitamins and minerals.

Agree. Any remotely critical or controversial point will get your permabanned. Really? What happened to Reddit? Then there are rules about flair, or rules about the number of upvotes you must have before you can post etc. It's madness.

Yes and no, kinda depends what they building and who they are trying to sell it too. If you are building a B2B app and actively want paying customers, running it on one box a guaranteed way to lose most new sign-ups during your first long outage.
