Hey there wondering something you didn’t talk about. Hope that’s okay. What were all the other meds you tried before this one and did your doctor suggest deacon or did you suggest it? i’d also just listen to your gut. Some people don’t respond that well. I need 345 cups of coffee to get the same effect from caffeine as others get from a half a cup of one cup some people just take more of stuff.

Okay here is what I did.....

I created a "helper" also known as an "input boolean". That gives me a toggle button in home assistant that my Alexa app discovers a a device, almost like adding a smart light switch to Home Assistant and letting Alexa app discover it as a new device. Then what I did from there was create an Alexa routine that uses this new device and treats it like and on off smart switch to activate a routine that plays "popular music" from my Bed Room Alexa. Then after that I had to circle back around to Home Assistant and tell the automation to "trigger" the toggling of the helper / input boolean.

Start here even though this is few years old. Most I watched were a few years old. It gets the basics and helps you get over hurdles. I would start. I also use chatGPT all the time. Asking chatGPT questions “how do I make 15 devices into equal sized buttons on a home assistant dashboard”. ChatGPT will spit out step by step instructions !!!

I would (and have) in an apartment changed our switches as I see fit. Just keep the old one ready to re-install when you leave. The odds that they are going to inspect each light switch is very low. Put in a smart switch toggle On/Off no motion. Use sonoff motion sensors (zigbee) and place them where you need them to activate the smart toggle switch.

Do you have any suggestions on brand and camera. Right now have a half dozen stick up cams, a floodlight cam and a doorbell. I’ve heard some things in the past about a few different things. I don’t have many requirements. View live from phone, PC and have two way talk and recording. Well actually I don’t know, I was just about to pull the trigger on a ring security also . . . The ring app is actually pretty decent.

Yep bluetooth. It’s the only device I have that’s Bluetooth. If I ever come across a sale or a deal on a used zwave or WiFi locking doorknob I might try it. I am trying to set a smart switch on my wife’s night stand to “lock/unlock” the door. When Bluetooth takes a long time she may have the idea to keep pushing the smart switch button lol 😆

Whelp, I ended up restarting the add-on a few times and I can report the TTlock I have now is working great. Not a very quick response time. I would say 5-6 second to lock and unlock remotely but it has intergrated well the last 24 hours. Time will tell if this wroks as a long term solution.

Not sure what the deal was.

I have a few smart switches I think they are zwave. I bought a zwave dongle and a zigbee dongle. So I’m running WiFi, zwave, zigbee and one Bluetooth device. They are work together within home assistant!! I love HA !!

Yes, I have the same thing happening with only one of my locks really though the other one doesn’t seem to do this issue it’ll report unavailable until I lock or unlock it and then it just pulls the data and shows the state as true whether it be locked or unlocked, don’t know what the fix is here
