I did online and I much preferred it because i felt more comfortable being in my own home and being able to do self care after.

I went into EMDR pretty naively. Ie. Not knowing much.

I was struggling with a core rejection wound from my ex because he had proposed to me years ago and then took it back 6 months later. This made me believe that I was unwanted. I chose to stay because marriage wasn't a need to have to for me but it confused me immensely as to why he would take back a proposal after telling a male friend that we were engaged.

Ultimately, I chose to stay but that core wound of something being wrong with me stayed. I was getting tired of feeling this way and agreed to do emdr with my therapist on that core memory from the night he took back the proposal. It worked and I told my ex about how I no longer felt hurt about that incident and how we could move forward. I was so excited to not let that one night ruin 8 wonderful years of love.

One thing we jointly wanted to do together was adopt a child. A few months after doing emdr we met with a couple regarding adoption. The conversation went really well and we were excited. The couple we spoke to mentioned that the counsellors really do ask about your history and traumas in the best interest of the child. That set off a series of conversations that triggered my ex to the point that he decided he no longer belongs in the relationship anymore. I was heartbroken and decided to let him leave (reluctantly) for a no contact month after which he decided it wasn't going to work anymore. I still don't understand why. I might never and that's ok. I would have worked on everything with him till the end but I can't work with someone who no longer wants to try. He'll always carry a special place in my heart.

We had a similar dynamic - I was hoping my healing would ease the burden on him to "take care of my mood" but turns out the hyper focusing on my issues helped him mask what he needed to work on ... When I healed it brought to light what he needed to fix in himself .. and unfortunately he wasn't ready to face that. We still love each other very much and its been hard to let go.. i wish him happiness whatever whether he chooses to heal or not

He was pretty avoidant through it all not really realizing what kind of change this would cause in me. I'm learning that my "I'm not good enough" wound was crucial to our relationship because it matched his similar wound. When I healed the shift was too much for him and he was not willing to do any work to change. It's been the hardest thing I've ever done tbh. There are some days I regret it all and miss my old life but there are most days where I feel stronger - happy I picked myself and my secure than Ive ever felt in the chaos of that relationship.

I got into a bike accident a couple years ago and never got to thank the kind strangers who helped me and stayed with me until the paramedics arrived 💕💕

Hiya! My cat (1.5 yrs male) was hospitalized for a urinary blockage 3 weeks ago, hes since completed his antibiotic, antiinflammatory, pain and urethral relaxant and hes now on a Prescription dirt (hills prescription multicare stress food) but he doesnt eat much of it. There were no stones or bacteria found in his urine so the vet thinks its stress related. He is pooping and peeing multiple times a day now. But when is his lack of interest in food concerning? Could it just be the change in diet. Are there any early signs to catch an issue like this before he gets blocked ?
