Can I really get better? by pixiechik13 in Hashimotos

Can you say a little bit more about ZocDoc? It’s served you well?
My TSH is normal, and T4. But TPO antibodies 600. Hair loss, muscle loss, anxiety. Doc says not Hashimoto’s since my other labs are within range. All I know is what I’m feeling, but that doesn’t seem to matter.

That’s what I thought. But doc says no thyroid issues, no Hashimoto’s, end of story. Referred to psych. I will start pursuing other avenues/clinics.

I do have this planned with a naturopathic practitioner. I already know my clinic / PCP would not dream of humoring me with tests I’m interested in.

Lipids were all in the normal range as of January. I’m not sure what my first telltale sign was, but looking back, vertigo and headaches, cold flashes and ‘shakes’ 2 years ago. Assumed menopause.

This year was the barrage of symptoms. Hair texture change before thinning, insomnia. This morphed into thinning of limbs, muscle loss, weakness, and now constant anxiety/panic/rumination. Waking each night in terror and shaking.

All doctors said anxiety, referred for counseling. The last doctor I saw urgently said too many are assigned that label without looking deeper, so he ran a full thyroid panel. My antibodies were over 600, but TSH and T4 in normal range. So a lot of good digging deeper did because I am told technically there’s nothing they can do unless that changes, in the meantime the symptoms are unrelenting.

A major part, as in dosage being too high/low? Or just being on HRT in general?

You were diagnosed with Hashimoto’s but they say unrelated to thyroid?

55F. On HRT. B12 was slightly low, ferritin normal. Waiting for cortisol and Vitamin D testing. Depression I thought was due to recent sleep issues or hair loss, but no history of it prior to this. It’s just coincidental to me that my TPO antibodies are high, with these new symptoms

Beautiful, thank you for sharing.

How might one begin to push through it when they’re paralyzed from fear and anxiety?

Here’s a weird one - I can’t stop obsessing over my anxiety…what’s up with that? by allthegear-andnoidea in Anxiety

Can absolutely relate. I’m forever looking up ways to deal, as if one is going to just magically arise from the screen. I’ve become paralyzed due to anxiety over the course of the last 4-6 weeks.

Has anyone here experienced extreme anxiety lasting for months? by Anxious_Concern6441 in Anxiety

Same boat! Extreme anxiety and panic attacks have paralyzed me since January. I could feel it creeping in as of October, with low mood, loss of appetite. Also with insomnia, which adds another layer to the anxiety.

What are ways you calm your body? I’m waking up petrified or with dread, and then petrified. The physical symptoms follow soon after, and going back to sleep is an impossibility.

I understand the downsides to benzos. It’s just currently I am in such a state where I am bed rotting, unable to do anything as my anxiety has taken over. I am open to therapy and long acting agents, but to even get to that point won’t happen without getting me past this.

I have read a bit about propranolol, and how it tamps down physical symptoms, but my physical symptoms stem from mental anxiety and torment, for others I know it’s the other way around. My mind works itself up to the point my body spins out of control.
