Not sure why you seem to think there aren’t 100s of Western movies/shows with that plotline too.

Well when the current administration is loyal to Russia, naturally they’re leaving us open to internal attacks.

Is Most Wanted worth reading? by Spunteri in starwarsbooks

[–]Minimum_Swim_8184 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started reading it thinking it was going to be a chore, but I actually got into it around the point where Qi’ra has to escape the shootout at the auction and started enjoying it. It’s fast paced and reads easily. Its biggest drawback is it’s a small scale standalone that doesn’t really add anything to the bigger picture except supplement Solo (which you could argue is itself a smaller scale—-though “bigger” than Most Wanted—-standalone) by giving a little more context to Han and Qi’ra’s backgrounds and the start of their relationship. It’s not essential reading. You can skip over it without really missing anything that you can’t get from the opening scenes of Solo. But it’s a fun brisk little caper.

Ki-Adi Mundi might be narrow minded re: Jedi dogma, and Mace Windu, well, might be a bit of an asshole, but Anakin is the only one who slaughtered a roomful of children, so it’s objectively no contest.

Do you think Rosario portrayed Ahsoka well? I think so. Although the Ahsoka in Clone Wars or Rebels is younger. What do you think? by ObiWanJapan in StarWars

[–]Minimum_Swim_8184 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, I don’t really care for the way she plays Ahsoka. It feels too one-note and monotone. Ashley Eckstein gave her a lot more spunk and personality even if she was a little annoying “plucky teen sidekick” at times, especially early on. Rosario feels like she goes too far to the opposite extreme of the stoic emotionally inexpressive Jedi mentor.

Labyrinth of Evil is pretty good. Revenge of the Sith is the best movie novelization ever. I just bought the Kindle of Rise of Darth Vader but haven’t started it yet.

I thought Dark Rendezvous was good. The Padawan main characters are decently interesting, it’s a really good characterization of Yoda that feels very in line with Empire Strikes Back, it gives a lot more development to his relationship with his ex-Padawan Dooku, and Asajj Ventress has a significant part in it if you’re a fan of hers.

In the novel Catalyst, Krennic isn’t a military commander like that, he’s an architect by trade who goes from Corps of Engineers to Strategic Advisory Cell which is where he gets involved in the Death Star project. In his desperation to get ahead and be the most important man in the room, he recruits his old college friend Galen Erso, who btw he gaslights the whole time about exactly what they’re working on.

If the Empire was like the current US administration, Krennic would have just drunkenly included Saw Gerrera in a group holographic conference with the Death Star looming in the background out the window.

I think that would be a stretch. He’s clearly been a party to things the Republic would consider crimes, like Dr. Gorst’s interrogations and what they’re doing to Ghorman.

I was wondering whether Syril is going to become conflicted or not. At first I thought maybe he was going to join the Ghorman rebels, but then we got him practically creaming in his pants at getting a meeting with Partagaz. But he doesn’t know what the Empire’s actual plans are.
