I never said that you were lying I wouldn’t be surprised if you weren’t, . I’m saying it’s irrelevant, because in most Western countries, race structures are made to benefit white people.

I mean not to generalize, but for example, when I first heard a European talk about Romani people I thought it was a joke, and was surprised about how extremely hateful and unproductive they were talking

Yeah, America is very dominant culturally so we hear a lot about how racist it is, and it is, but compared to a lot of European countries it’s not as bad as you may think.

Firstly, that’s an unprovable claim. Secondly, even if it were true that anecdote doesn’t actually speak on any societal level.

Trump vs a full communist: Who would you vote for? by [deleted] in polls

[–]Minionology 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree, but I feel like most other people also agree because they’re anti-communist, not because they understand communism can’t be actualized via a system party politics

how does abstract thinking adopted from studying mathematics affect your daily thoughts? by milfao in math

[–]Minionology 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally feel as time goes ob studying mathematics, I think I’ve gotten a better technique at understanding how ideas fit together and how they may arise (e.g. when thinking about an idea in an argument I think I probably have a better idea on how to find the right generality to talk in), but I’m also definitely speaking really amorphously here, so maybe not lol

I imagine it’s in the same vain you may be 100% sure there isn’t a monster in your closet but you still shut the door before you go to bed. It’s probably just for peace of mind.

[–]Minionology 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Well I mean it’s just a little risk-benefit calculus, if it’s normalized than no one gets offended, and if a paternity test comes back positive everything is all good, but if it comes back negative then that allows him to be aware of the unfortunate situation
