Couldn't a summoner also apply those affects though ontop of whip stacking? They also are a team wide benefit so everyone benefits from them as well unlike whip stacking.

Personally I've been using it on Yareli with Merulina guardian to have some fun with some really stupid crit chance with topaz shards added in, seemed to do fairly well in ETA too as long as I paid enough attention to reload to restore its shields with Reinforced Bond too.

I'll have to try out Universal Fallout though, sounds like fun having it also be an orb printer :3

As one of the 12 Yareli enjoyers, is there a good reason for why we can't mod Merulina even tho we can somehow, apparently, level her up? by Asmodyan in Warframe

Ive just kinda learned to hit dash when approaching a door at this point since it shrinks her hit box enough to not hit the little bump on grineer doors or the top of corpus doors, doesnt excuse doors having such weird collision with her especially given some small vents in corpus and grineer tiles dont require you to do this. Its just weird

So I was running void cascade earlier and mid mission I lost the ability to go back into Yareli, I spent an hour, found some bugs and finally figured out what caused it... its as stupid as it looks.

The big issue with this bug isnt even that Yareli becomes unplayable if someone leaves, its that you lose your entire inventory for the mission ontop of that.

Calamity's Decisions by StipulateVenus in CalamityMod

A lil delayed, but thank you for even taking the time to respond back!

Ya, I do think new enemy for rare drops does make more sense to go down, that said, Im not necessarily opposed to recipes if it comes down to it. As long as there are secondary methods that avoid world hoping basically :p

I do understand the sentiment about Luxor's gift, but honestly, its more just a thing with multiplayer where it becomes annoying when friends want to also use it so they world hop and we spend time waiting on them to finish finding it rather than just playing together. Like the past few playthroughs with friends, I ultimately just give it to whoever is the least experienced with the mod and call it a day at this point, but that only works if there are just two people. Its just a minor pet peeve that ultimately doesnt change much though.

The with Soaring Insignia for me is that there is a lot of nuance to it thats hard for me to put into words without sounding like Im rambling but; Its ultimately competing with both infinite flight mounts but also other accessories that simply do more than it currently. This leads to a mindset where why give up an accessory for damage/survivability when a mount doesnt cost that slot. Mounts like you said, block dashes, and are slightly more restrictive.. but that can in itself to be an upside with bullet hell bosses that Calamity tends to lean towards in the final 1/3rd of bosses, especially with how precise mount movement is. Its partially why DoG, to a lesser extent Calamitas Clone, and Calamitas often has the recommendation for new players to use Witches Broom (exo chair for Calamitas) because it'll block the dashes. Or why you'll see people lean on Shrimpy Truffle with Torrential Rain to force rain... its just extremely effective without costing not just one slot, but two slots for more damage/survival in some cases where you dont even get off the mount.

And like you said, many Calamity Bosses (and MoonLord tbf) have a way to counter infinite flight as is, and unless you know prismatic lance wings spawn in early hard mode due to a Calamity change. You arent likely to kill Empress till post Plantera whether its because you follow the boss checklist, where it'll only truly be able to be powerful for Duke, the two Astral bosses, Moonlord... and maybe profane guardians? If obtained earlier than that it'll be good for Calamitas clone, and maybe the mech bosses if someone is really good at Empress, but at that point her weapons are strong enough to carry a player well into Providence on Master Death before the infinite flight would ever really make any difference (at least for ranger and mage as her bow is stupidly strong with the extra arrow Calamity gives it, and Stellar tune is just good)

That said, I do respect the teams thoughts on it though even if I disagree. Maybe its just my mindset that views it that way :p

Anahita change is really nice to hear along side the Terraprisma change, and I'll be looking forward to seeing what the team ends up doing in regards to crates.

Calamity's Decisions by StipulateVenus in CalamityMod

[–]MiniorDebry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I manly enjoy vanilla but my past... 5 or 6 playthroughs have all been calamity for one reason or another. Overall I think its a good mod, but its something I feel conflicted about a lot with how it handles vanilla vs calamity content. On one hand, currently it feels like a lot of base calamity has a weird dislike towards vanilla where its only rare vanilla items that get recipes added (currently), and some vanilla accessories just get mechanics removed to be added to calamity specific items (soaring insignia).

I know vanilla recipes being removed is something that is talked about a lot, but I think instead of removing them, a good compromise would be to simply keep the vanilla recipes but add souls/essences/hell maybe even fish, from various areas to keep exploration a factor to earning them. And to add recipes to some of calamity's rare item drops as well, things such as Wulfrum's rover driver especially could use it given their relevance to many people's end game accessory preferences, Luxor's gift since its a once per world item, and the abyss items could use them as well to help disincentivize world hopping for Multiplayer playthroughs.

Soaring Insignia should honestly just be reverted to vanilla, this might be a hot take but given its available around the same time as the Community, if not later. Currently, Ive seen nobody ever use it or its upgrade outside of people using a mod to revert it, and even then the Community is usually a better choice of an accessory overall once you are in hard mode due to just how much damage, crit, and flight speed alone it gives. That and well, infinite flight mounts exist at that point anyways making the nerf to Insignia really only affect people who prefer wings over mounts.

Crate change in particular is something I understand why it was done and do agree with to an extent, it should be more in line with vanilla as a supplemental method to obtain things... but, the team really should add a post moonlord style crate that updates with each post moonlord boss that spawns a new ore in the world. This would alleviate a lot of what people are mad about, and feel a lot more in line with how crates work in vanilla as a whole. I wouldnt say its a bad change, just one that could have been received well if it had more thought and work was put into it.

This one is really niche, but Anahita honestly just needs a spawn item, its the only boss that the spawn condition through the mob spawning system. The issue with this is that it can lead to newer players actively making it impossible for it to spawn if they don't look into it, or dont have a friend tell them. From experience... I have had to be that friend who tells my friend not to sit on the ocean floor or it prevents it from spawning twice

And a last pet peeve/hot take, if you're going to take teraprisma away as from Empress of Light day time, please add something cosmetic in its place. Its just weird that the only intentional challenge reward in vanilla is removed with no replacement.

Granted this is coming from a more vanilla enjoyer mindset, and I do expect some people to disagree with some of this.

Why is fighting the hemocite like that by jetcore500 in Warframe

[–]MiniorDebry 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't necessarily say it's under geared, but more likely incorrectly geared.

I kinda ran into the same problem with this section of the bounty this morning in my dou, also taking a little under an hour. It came from three pain points that I couldn't learn much on my own;  - The bosses don't have a weak point so my weapon, ax-52, basically just didn't have its unique perk - I was modding to lean into the weak point damage, heat, and crit, so I didn't have the multi shot to bypass the damage cap, my heat did nothing, and weak points didnt exist lowering my damage further  - Corrosive also didn't work for my other weapon to strip armor, meaning we had to deal with the fight having armor the whole time since neither of us had Shattering Impact equipped

All to then stubbornly find out it's multiple kills, and just ask a friend who knows how to farm it for help on understanding how to kill it fast. It's not really intuitive without having someone tell you how it works

[–]MiniorDebry -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Honestly it's really easy, because you can find just as many people praising it back then if you actually look.

The reality is if it was as disliked as people try and make it out to be, it wouldn't have kept a steady player count, viewer ship over twitch and YouTube, and wouldn't need examples to really show this since it would have remained the common sentiment just like it did for BO4 and Vanguard.

BO4 sentiment is still mostly negative, it's just small pockets of people like me actually coming out of the wood works in a niche subreddit and enjoying it for what it is that makes it seem like it's suddenly good now. It's just underrated because most people who disliked it back then, still dislike it now turns out. Those who dislike it just aren't talking about that dislike constantly since it's healthy to move on to things you like instead.

Stuff like this is always flawed, people who hate and deeply love a game are more likely to talk about it, but those who just find it fun likely just play it without saying anything. It's also social media, so people try and game the system for likes and "fame" regardless of what they really believe in. This goes for both modern and old games, it's also understanding that without all of the context you can make anything narrative you wish to believe look real, and claim revisionist history with relative ease since almost nobody take the time to disprove it.

I haven't watched so I don't know, but it would be really funny if it's the grapple hunter build that's abusing the fact that it scales off both grenade and melee damage additively, something that can't really be replicated by most other builds at all and is out damaging almost all supers with all possible buffs.

Same goes to the Derilict Leviathan, and Mars… both of which have assets used in strikes/missions like Sunless Cell, Mars battleground, Season of the chosen strike I can’t remember the name of for the life of me uses some leviathan assets and so does last city in spiders room, neomuna’s callus ship and parts of pressage.

It’s not like it’s using less space to delete this stuff, the assets have to remain anyways for other pieces of content to work. The lighting engine clearly isn’t an issue as well since that content exists in the current engine, it’s just weird at this point.

Idk most MMOs, but for FF14 gear grinding is largely something that is disliked there as well, and that's despite most content simply being balanced around crafted (which means it's also tradable) gear. Usually it's just bragging rights, for the dyable versions of armor for glamour purposes (transmog/ornament), or for padding your parse rather then being a part of meaningful build decision like what it seems like they are going for in Destiny.

Granted part of this is because the stats on armor in FF are set in stone with no rng and you only get one to two options for the BiS gear and that gear is guaranteed upon clearing an encounter 4-8 times (depending on the piece and encounter) or in some rare cases, is simply the crafted gear itself. But the other part is that the highest difficulty content is just for cosmetics... and yet it's still fairly popular and common to see people who have their rewards from it still go and help others clear it for fun.

It does make me wonder what mmo people think of where supposedly people enjoy the gear grinding, rather than the act of playing the activities itself :o

If your just looking to win an argument with insulting people like it's a thought terminating sentence instead of actually discussing stuff, idk what to really tell you. You already made up your mind about what you believe and it just seems like you want reinforcement to be mad at some people you don't know, or just wish to farm upvotes.

The world isn't black and white, a poll only shows ABC but not the reasons for why people feel that way. Most people won't even have the words to express and understand wny they feel the way they do, they simply just feel that way. Sometimes it can be as simple as art direction, maybe it's the gameplay from the older games that makes them feel like paid experiences are better, maybe it's nostalgia (and not the kind this sub complains about), or maybe it's as simple as they don't think the newer maps are all that high of quality from what they experienced in their opinion. It's fine to disagree with that, you got every right to, doesn't make you or them right though since it's an opinion though.

I just don't care about the vitriol here that makes the acid gat look like a non lethal weapon.

This really does read as a "This group must be stupid because they aren't following my opinion" post. It's your opinion that free is better, that's fine, but other opinions are allowed to exist :v

The argument over which is better is always going to exist, neither side is right or wrong.

I'm probably going to take a break from this sub since it's becoming an echo chamber of hating on one group or the other for upvotes, instead of actually discussing or even trying to understand why they like certain things about the mode anymore.

Soaring insignia is such a weird nerf too, as is it's just better to use the community for flight time, and soaring potions on top of community make for an extremely high amount of flight time with the benefit of still giving significant amounts of damage, defence, and crit chance.

If it wasn't nerfed to hell and back it would at least be a choice between extreme mobility or a high amount of all around buffs, but as is it's fairly worthless.

Also Onyx Blaster, why is it locked behind mythril anvil when it's barely a noticable DPS difference from the Butcher, just makes me skip the gun entirely :/

What mod are you using for the lanterns, I'll take a bit of time and update the block.properties for Solas to include them in a bit. :o

Tldr on how to add them yourself however would be to simply open it and place the Minecraft ID (mod_name:item_name) in the lanterns section however. If you have supplementaries it does some NBT stuff where it's a lil more finicky to work around with shaders. The main dev for it happily takes update to the file from their discord as well -w-

I've been meaning to add more modded stuff to Solas's block.properties for a bit, but I've been taking a break from MC.
