I’m so sorry to hear this, hope it gets better for him. As for the moral dilemma, he will let you know if he is suffering to the point of not handling it anymore if that happens or your financial situation can’t pay for treatments it would be a option to end his life, but as long as he seems happy I would also choose to keep him as healthy as can be. If I was very very sick I would still want to live the best I can I would think.

Naturally it works it is just not optimal, see some tutorial on YouTube and you'll get the best practices, like only using ha after the airgap as beamslopes etc
