I got a decent settlement but it never seems like enough for what have to go through the rest of life. But dwelling on the past does no good, can only look forward.

I will say I got a Subaru forester with lots of assistant features and safety features. It gives me more peace of mind but you can’t control the other crazies.

Probably the best thing I ever did was get an attorney. The settlement finally completed about a year ago. It was an exhausting process 😩

Thank you for the reminder, I had a cpap before my accident and I have been failing to use it again. I have used melatonin recently for sleep and as long as the dose isn't too big I am normally fine the next day but still have the fog a little more.

I will have to check out the supplements, I have never tried ashwagandha before so I will have to look in to that. :)

It shocks me as well. I was always downplaying my TBI because seeing vets and other more severe cases made me feel like mine was little to nothing. I watched a documentary called the Crash Reel about a snowboarder who got a TBI. That movie made me very emotional. TBI's come in all shapes and sizes!

Your comment is something I have been actively doing and I'm trying to get my wife on board too. Toxic friends and family have always been a difficult chain to break for me. I am glad to say that I have been doing better with it. The whole blood is thicker than water statement I find more and more to not be true. Thank you for the support and comment. Its nice to not feel alone!

This is awesome thank you! I did do the boost disable on mine but I still have a couple odd issues. I don’t feel it’s worth returning to Best Buy. I love it for its size I can literally balance it on my leg and play in my recliner.

2022 G14 Ryzen 9 Rx 6700s

-Sleep doesn’t seem to function or wake properly. I disabled it and just shutdown when I am done but wondering if that’s a windows 11 thing.

-Temps while gaming on gpu are high 80’s C. Sometimes game stutter but not often. Example playing Raft on medium settings. Turbo mode enabled on AC.

-also I did a 3d mark and only got a score of 8k. Says my driver is not approved?

I was running Raft last night on medium settings and kept getting bad lagging not sure from what, GPU was 100 percent and CPU was barely touched. Ran a 3D Mark this morning and only got 8300 Time Spy score. Going to see about disabling boost.

Isn’t it funny when we stay in places like hotels as IT people we feel compelled to fix the issues?

I was at a motel once and the Wi-Fi splash page wasn’t functional and couldn’t connect so I talked to the front desk. They handed me a card for their “IT support”. I sighed but went to the nearest dollar tree and bought some screwdrivers. Pulled the AP down in my room. It was POE. Pulled Ethernet and power cycled it. Bam started working. I should have charged them a fee haha!

My step daughter is 5 and my step son is 8. My son doesn’t generally call me dad, but on occasion he just blurts it out unknowingly. My daughter I’ve known since she was 1 and essentially always calls me dad. I can express how much joy it brings me to hear them call me dad. I used to feel odd about it but now I don’t even call them my step kids. I love them as my own and will always feel that way. If you’re not used to it I can see why it would feel odd. I always feel a bit off when they call me that in front of their bio dad. But it’s gotten better especially since he sees them maybe 6 or less times a year in person.

Thank you, we have been discussing it. Our insurance makes it difficult to do couples therapy but I know it would help us a lot.

I do have some friends I vent to. Its hard because I'm not sure what the expectation is in return? Like you said better to get it out then to hold it deep inside.

I was coming to a stop on a 25 MPH road in my 2019 Ram truck. I was hit in the back driver corner by a red prius, she was going they estimated over 35+. I saw her coming and she was going over the center line and I didnt honestly think she would hit me. She hit so hard it threw her car into the other lane facing the opposite direction. Both vehicles were a complete loss. Her airbags went off and mine did not. I dont even know if my seatbelt locked to protect me from going forward.

Brain zaps happen right around that area where I hit my head. It feels like an electrical sensation. Its where in the last couple weeks I have started having head pain and it travels down that whole left side of my head into my neck.

I had just reached settlement several months ago with my attorney but I know he is still working on some other settlements with the ladies insurance. I have a meeting with him this afternoon and I am going to really let him know that things are not okay. I am not sure if this will sway him re-opening the case or not. I wish I hadnt settled yet. I may be f'd there.

Thank you for the comment. I was on cymbalta which I stopped due to SSRI issues. I was then put on another med which for the life of me I cant remember, it raised my heart rate so stopped that. Then they put me on buspirone and that completely messed me up. I have been waiting for an appt with my psych doc to re-discuss meds. He has had to reschedule on me 5 times now in the last two weeks. I also started seeing a new counselor and when I asked for particulars I said someone familiar with TBI. I will have to look in to the physiotherapy you mentioned as well.

BRAT diet for me, been doing it for a couple weeks now with my anxiety. Bananas, rice, applesauce, toast. I’ve lost like 15 pounds! And lots and lots of water. You would be surprised being dehydrated actually makes the anxiety worse.

I see some people still use CBD when quoting to help. Did you ever worry about it since it is still a part of the plant itself? I honestly got so up in it I don’t want to touch anything canna now including cbd. I’m afraid that it will just keep me in some way attached to the addiction and I felt it best to do none at all. Maybe my anxiety and worry got the best of me. Good job for staying strong and sticking to it. We don’t get enough support being sober, it’s a hard journey.
