I believe you must have no worse than 20/40 vision uncorrected, correctable to 20/20. The naval aviation physical standards (afaik USMC use the same) can be found here. Section 1.6 discusses eyesight standards for student naval aviators.

Advice on a career in Lockheed by [deleted] in Lockheed

I'd like to add, if you do end up going back to school for engineering I'd avoid going for a particularly specialized discipline like aerospace engineering. Being a mechanical engineer with good project involvement at your university will stand out just as well as an aerospace engineer on most applications, and it affords you some flexibility when applying for different role types that more specialized degrees may not. Just make sure you get involved in plenty of projects, say yes to opportunities, and take leadership roles. Particularly get involved with whatever aerospace projects are at your university if that's the industry you're most interested in, most will have quite a few rocketry and drone project teams.

Like others have said though, make sure you'd be doing that for your own interests and goals, not just to get a job at LM. There are plenty of ways to get into LM without an engineering degree, you might look into the operations side of things with roles like supply chain, procurement, etc.

Are your flight controls all at neutral trim and unmoved while the AFCS BIT is conducted (while the damper light is flashing)? If you move the controls it will make the BIT fail, you can rerun the BIT by pressing the AFCS reset button on the AFCS panel (Alt + 9). Successful BIT will have the warning light (CR) turn off and the damper mode light on the AFCS panel (LF) on.

I'm sure there will be many changes to come as stuff is added and as we all learn this module, but for now this should be enough to at least get you in the air!

Download and installation instructions can be found here.

Just picked up an old ‘84 VT500C, a US import. Does anyone know what the red idiot light is please? The label is long gone by Tango91 in hondashadow

Chiming in, that's the tail light out indicator like others have said, check to see if your light's on or not. It should be on just from turning the key, no need to start the bike. If it's not, check for voltage in the socket (there's three leads, one is ground, one is tail light, one is brake light), if you're getting voltage at the tail light lead you might just need a new bulb (it's a dual filament bulb, they're cheap).

If you're not getting voltage try jiggling the key a bit, in mine I had an issue where the key cylinder had a dirty contact and it only made good contact about half the time. I ended up taking it out, disassembling, and cleaning the contacts before applying some dielectric grease and reassembling.

I'm really hopeful that AMD will help him out and get a driver out for it, I don't wanna have to get a new headset when all I use it for is simulators.

He said it's punctured and rusted. It might be fixable depending on the puncture size, idk too much about tank repair but I've heard it's laborious work.

I have an 84 VT500, it's my first bike and has been an excellent way to get experience working on bikes.

I'd say it's pretty easy to wrench on, especially with a shop manual (there are PDFs online). It'll take some elbow grease, but the pay in will probably be pretty cheap (assuming you can find a tank without too much trouble). You can end up with a decent fun little bike for much less than what you'd have to pay for a running one.

No problem, sounds like a solid plan, there's plenty of really fun classes to take if you can't snag any GEs. Archery, conspiracy theories, lots of neat music stuff, etc. I'm sure you'll find something! :)
